lighting

We are getting married in a park, 6PM in September so it won't be dark until around dancing (good) and cleanup (not good) We have 2 sites next to each other and 1 electrical outlet on each site, so electric lights don't seem to be an option. Do lanterns give off enough light to be our main light? Without breaking the bank? I don't mind packing in some electric shop lights if needed for cleanup -yes, I have people doing cleanup, I won't literally be hiking up my dress and packing in lights! Has anyone dealt with any kind of non electric main lighting? Also, there has been great advice in the past that I've found by scrolling, is there a way to search this site to answer my many questions?

Re: lighting

  • We had a combination of string Christmas lights and candles. The lights were strung around the largest trees and the gazebo. Tall hurricanes were used as centerpieces over satin linens and tall lanterns were placed around the yard. There were a few existing lights from the house already, but not enough to have been able to make do. Pics are in my bio under reception. There is a search function at the very bottom of the page.
