anniversary gift

Our 5 year anniversary is coming up.... any gift ideas? I would really like it to be something meaingful but that's as far as I've gotten. All I've x-ed off of the list is probably jewelry... he's not really a jewelry guy.

TIA!
Best of luck to you and yours!

Re: anniversary gift

  • I suppose I should add it's a dating anniversary, we are getting married 2/22/13.

  • In order to give suggestions, we'd have to know something about your FI. . . ?

  • Mostly he likes to play video games lol I'd like to stay away from that though. He's a big Dallas Cowboys fan but over the years I've given him a bunch of that sort of thing. I was thinking maybe something I could make him or have engraved (but again he doesn't really wear jewelry).
Best of luck to you and yours!

What about a nice watch with some sort of engraving on the underside of it?

<div>Like.  Get him a watch he'd never buy himself--I did that for my FI and he loves to wear it, and will even tell people that it's his engagement watch--I got a ring, he got a watch :)</div>
  • For our 1st year dating anniversary, I made FI a Shutterfly book chronicling our year together - trips, mystery dates, holidays, etc. We had the best time looking through it and he got very emotional. Now I'm working on our year 2 book. He probably knows it's coming, but it's a special tradition and we love that we have something to look back on our beginning years together. Cost about $40 and is not terribly time-consuming.

I got my FI a really nice engraved keychain from Things Remembered last year for our anniversary. He loves it.<div>Or what about an engraved money clip or pocket knife?</div>
