Wedding vows

Is anyone writing their own vows?  My FI and I decided to write our own vows to one another.  I am a journalist and thought this would be an easy task, but boy was I wrong.  I have sat down and wrote two separate vows tonight, and still not sure if I like either of them.  I will be balling when I say my vows, that I can promise you.  I want to get them written, since my FI is gone this week, plus it will be one less thing to do.  I don't want to be writing my vows the day of the wedding, because that would just be too much!  

How did you ladies get inspiration to write your vows?

    We're writing our own vows. A loooong time ago I began writing my vows, but hadn't looked at them for months. I looked today after reading your post. I was expecting that I would have something semi-usable. But no, I have about 6 sentences of lameness. I'm in the same boat as you! I guees that I'll start with the reasons why I want to marry him and why we're good together, and hopefully that will lead me somewhere. We'll see how it goes! Good luck!

    You girls are braver than I! FI and I are not writing our own vows. For some reason, it feels like too much pressure to me. I give you both props for doing it though! I wish I had some inspiration for you! If it were me, I'd be reading samples of everyone else's vows, hahah. GL ladies!

    FI & I are not writing our own vows. It may seem weird, but there's something I really like about traditional vows, so that's what we're going with. GL!

    Faith, thats what I've been doing, looking at sample wedding vows.  I'll read them again as we get closer and if I start crying while reading one of them, than thats the one I'll use!
