DJ prices

I haven't started shopping for a DJ yet and don't know much about prices. Can anyone give me an idea about how much I can expect to spend for a Sunday afternoon wedding?

    Day of the week doesn't really matter for a DJ. We're using Tommy's Tunes and they start around 1000 I think for a bare bones package.

    if i remember correctly we paid about 2k for ours.

    Our Dj is costing us a little over 1000. This includes the DJ, MC and a light show. Only for the reception. Cocktail hour would be an additional 100 and the ceremony would be an additional 150 but we already have a musician for those. I have a few friends that work for our local radio stations (WBLI and Party FM) they recommended him to me so i am very confident they will do a great job. The company is called Crowd Control Entertainment.
