MIA florist

Hey anyone out there use Rose Rios?  My wedding is in August and in May she emailed back saying we would get together in July....well its mid July and no word.  Tried calling her and her phone is no longer in service.  Emailed her Friday but no response yet.  When should I start freaking out?

Now. I have never heard of that florist. I would starting looking ASAP for other florists that aren't already booked. Summer is a prime time for weddings, so I hope you can get something together. If not, you may have to explore other options, such as buying them at Sam's Club or something.

I agree.... I would be worried too. Did you put a deposit down? I agree with Missy, and would try contacting other florists. I used Kelly karsten, and she did a wonderful job. I suggest you try her!

I would be freaking out too, just stay calm though and start looking for others, there are a lot of suggestions on this board to help you find someone.

If this were me I know I would be freaking out too. But try to stay calm... give us some details and maybe we can help you / recommend a florist who could fit your needs. Size of your wedding? Style (casual, fancy, fun, relaxed, traditionsl, etc)? Do you need flowers for both the ceremony & reception? Any special things you wanted done?

I know a woman who had a small wedding who didn't find her florist until the month before the wedding and everything was beautiful.

But best case scenario: she just hasn't emailed you yet because weekends are the busy time for weddings & she'll get back to you on Monday. It's rude that she didn't call you back, though I know some vendors are just difficult to get ahold of, no matter how rude it is. Go ahead & send another email though just to let her know that you mean business.

I'd give her a few days - she might be on vacation, or just finishing up flowers from weddings this past weekend.  Try calling/emailing again tomorrow.  If you don't hear anything by Wednesday or Thursday, then I'd be very concerned.

Did you sign a contract or put down a deposit?  How did you hear about her (friend, coworker, Google, etc)?  Could whoever referred you to her provide a different phone number or email address?

I actually paid her a good amount of money thus far....well good amount according to my budget.  I found her on Craigslist and even checked the last place that she had worked.  I met with her downtown because she works out of her house.  I am going to give her until mid-week then start working on another plan.  It just concerns me her phone is disconnected.

If I do need to start looking elsewhere, my wedding is 150 ppl.  I am trying to make it romantic- and will need flowers for both the ceremony and reception.  Since I already paid one florist, I will have to work out a way to get money for another one, so my budget is going to be limited.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Definitely keep calling and emailing, but if you don't hear back I would start plan B asap! We can definitely give you suggestions! I'm not sure about other florists, but mine only required a 20% deposit with the balance due 2 weeks before the date. good luck!

I am looking at using Market Blooms in the North Market. I think they are less traditional than other floral vendors but I've read some online reviews from people who said their wedding flowers turned out beautifully and that Market Blooms had great value for the money.

But I really, really hope your florist comes through for you!

I am using Kelly Karsten. kelly@kellykarsten.com. Get in touch with her ASAP!

Other highly recommended florists on here are: Flowers on Sprintree Lane, Flowers on Orchard Lane, Flowers by Jerry, and Flowerman. Because of their popularity I would not be surprised if they are booked, but keep looking!

Yuck! That is SOOO annoying. I sure hope she is refunding your money. Definitely look into who KellyRVT suggested above. Kelly Karsten was able to create my "romantic" look very well and she was more affordable than some of the other favorites so try her. I hope it works out for you!!

PM me if you want more info about her or prices that I was quoted...
