Will this offend our photographers?

I set up a photo sharing site and was going to get business sized cards printed that has our site information on it. It would include the website and asking guests to share their digital photos/videos. I was wondering if should put the cards out at the reception (Maybe on the bathroom counter), in the thank you cards or both. Do you think the photographers might be offened? I don't want to take away from their photography.

The only thing about thank you cards is if they don't go out until several weeks later then people might delete the pics, forget to upload them, etc. If they get the card at the wedding they may be more likely to remember to upload them. Thanks for your opinions!

Why on earth would it offend your photographers?

At any rate, most people do this (myself included) nowadays, I wouldn't think anything of it.

Thanks for your input! I told someone about this and they were against it for this reason. Just wanted to see what other people thought.

It's your day. The photographer may be offended that he doesn't get to cash in on those photos but who cares? I think it's a great idea & may borrow it from you if you don't mind

That's so weird. :) FWIW, my photographers didn't seem to care one way or the other.

The photographer can't be everywhere at one time. What if one of your guests captures something they missed? Vistaprint has cheap business cards, and I think it would be perfectly ok to put them on the table with the info. And if you have not received any by the time your thank you's roll around, then attach one in there as well.

I signed up the other day at shutterfly. You create your own website then you can share the URL and password with your guests

I'm doing the same thing, and my photographer thinks it's a great idea! The more pictures the better! It was SO easy to do. I went to snapfish and set up an account. Then I went to Vistaprint and I got the free business cards printed up with the information. They said:
Kelly & Will ******** (last name)
May 30, 2010
Did you get some great photos?
We would love to see them!!

250 cards cost me $5.47 for shipping. And we're going to put them at each seat, and then put some extras at the guest book table with the favors in case they get swept up with dinner plates or something. Hope that helps!!
