Procession etiquette

Hi everyone, long time no see!

My sister is getting married this spring and neither of us actually knows what the "usual" order for a wedding procession is. Is there a specific time that the MoB and FoG are supposed to take their seats? And is there a norm for who escorts them (siblings, each other, ushers), or do they just walk alone? I searched the history on P&E but didn't find anything definitive.

TIA!

When in doubt, Google (or Bing, whatever your cup of tea is):

    I came across this:

I think a Procession can go a number of different ways and all are proper "etiquette."  It depends on the size of the wedding party, the religion involved, and personal preference.

IMO, there is no "norm" since all religions have their different take on it.  But what I consider to be the most traditional/norm would be (follows the closest to the Protestant way):

Mothers/Grandmothers seated after all the other guests (by ushers/GMs or their husbands, however THEY want it)
Officiant and Groom (with BM and GMs) come to the alter from the side (no aisle walking)
BMs go down the aisle one by one
    MOH goes down the aisle
    Ring bearer and/or flower girl
    Bride with Father/whoever

    HTH!

And I would seat MOG and FOG before MOB or FOB, since the guys side usually goes first with all procession stuff.
