Re: I am feeling judgemental

  • I am truly sorry you lost your dad.  I can't imagine going through that.  But yeah, I'm with AATB.  It doesn't give you a free pass to be an ass.

  • Koda, I agree. And I usually am in the 'first class' line. (At least when I fly with my dad. He travels for work a ton, so he has the rewards blahblahblah.)

Honestly? I judge everyone who rushes for the door to be the FIRSTOBOARD.  I'll sit in my nice open space in the airport for an extra 10 minutes, thanks. You can go cram yourself in your tiny space first. be my guest.
  • I judge people who walk into a restaurant 10 minutes before closing time.  I closed last night at work, and we had not one, but TWO tables walk in 10 minutes to 1 AM (one of those actually walked in at 5 til).  We were almost done cleaning and everything.  And we can't tell them we are closed, because we technically aren't  And the kitchen guys were trying to get their shiit done too (they were pissed!)  I didn't leave til around 1:45 AM.  On a freaking Monday.

  • Well, I'm going to go ahead and change the subject. I really, really judge how I can't walk the 10 minutes between the train and my office without having at least three men tell at me. First they yell something along the lines of "Hey baby/gorgeous/sugar/etc," then when I don't respond and keep walking, they yell "Yeah you'd better keep walking, bitch!" I kid you not, variations of this exchange happen every.single.day. I really hate walking to work.
  • ETA: I meant "change the subject" from the Lauraen weirdness, not from the plane discussion!

  • I judge all forms of cat-calling, poli.  Why people think it's okay to do that is beyond me.

  • Poli - are you working in SF?  Goodness, that's not the SF I remember.  Usually everyone minds their own business and doesn't say boo to anyone. But maybe no one in SF was interested in how I look.  ;)  I get a lot more hooting and hollering now that I'm in Tampa.

It's a pretty safe part of Oakland as well, so it makes no sense to me. I'm also dressed in my therapist clothes, so not exactly the thong jeans from last week's thread. It's honestly getting to the point that I'm considering walking 20 minutes out of my way to get on at a different stop :P

I'm sorry, I logged off before I saw this! It actually wasn't that bad. I did a practice 8-miler two weeks before race day to see if I'd have any problems, and it was fine. I really want to do next year's Princess race.

Steph, there is so much I judge at the airport, it could fulfill its own thread. People who bring more in their carry-ons than I had in my first apartment, nasty feet in the line at security (which is why I always wear socks and pull-on boots), people who hog both arms when they sit in the center seat, people who board in the wrong section just so they can get on the plane first...only to have to sit there while the rest of us board and then holding us all up because they have to get up to let everyone else in. Oh, and people who stand up immediately once the captain turns off the fasten seatbelt sign after we taxi to the gate, and wind up standing there for a half hour.

And I see that Laura is still being a hosebag. Awesome.

Mehg, I'm thinking about putting together a gtg for a 1/2 at Disney maybe in November (I think there's one around the Food and Wine Festival) - give me something to work towards...interested?
  • And on that note, I just arrived at aforementioned Oakland train stop, so I'm going to sign off for now. See you ladies later!
  • LDY - I'm already registered for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon, so I'll be there! My H is running it with me, so if you ladies come, you'll get to meet him too! We'll probably arrive the Friday before the race, and stay to enjoy the parks till Tuesday or Wednesday. I need to book our hotel reservation; I want to stay at the All-Star Movies resort since it's close to the ESPN Wide World of Sports (where the Expo and Start Line are) and it's the only hotel near there that has suites, so we can save on food by making our own breakfasts and snacks.

It was horrifying. Also, I used to HATE when people would come in right before closing time. It always happened to me when I was a bartender and of course they would order something complicated like a freaking mojito. I always lied and said we were out of the ingredients.

<div>That's disgusting. When I was at the University of Indianapolis before I transferred out, I lived in the all girls dorm.  There was a guy who would sit outside the dorm and jack off on a frequent basis.  He wasn't a student, just a random dude.  Campus security sent out an alert about it after getting several complaints, but it took them weeks to finally catch him in the act and do something about it.  It was ridiculous.  Also, that same year in another dorm there, someone put a camera in one of the women's showers.</div>

</div><div>Nope, we are closed at 1:00 AM, which, for my company at least, means that we take orders until then.  We actually had a manager get fired for telling people that the restaurant was closed before actual closing time. </div>
