Question about Album from Photographer

How many images are in your wedding album by your photographer?  Our photog. recommended no more than 100 images.  I'm curious if this sounds about right.  Thanks!

That sounds about right.  We started by picking our 30 top pictures and then little by little they had us add more.  We probably have about 100 in our album.

Plus we have all the proofs in hard copy and cd so we can make another album if we wanted.

no idea... but it depends on how many pages are in your album I think.  I saw one photographer and the album she offered included 20 pages (8x10) and she mention 100 to 150 images

We have about 170 in our album. But we upgraded (twice) to get a 48 page book.

If your book is around 24 - 32 pages, 100 should be fine. Remember that they are telling you to "select about 100 images" for your album. They are not all going to be 8x10 or 5x7 in size. So that the 100 that you do pick will have a mix of sizes and that's the number they feel will best fit in your album.

(If you are ok with all 2x3 pics you could have close to 300 pics in a 24 page album, but you're not going to want all small pictures)

So if they advise you on around 100, go with that.

Trust them - they are the professionals!

<div>Unfortunately, I haven't been thrilled with the photographer starting from about a month prior to our wedding (which was early July) up until now.  That's part of the reason I wanted to check in here.</div><div>
</div><div>Thank you everyone for your input!  Sounds like 100 is a good number.</div>

Dont forget you can always change photographers! Everyone here can recommend  someone! We weren't happy with our first choice and canceled and lost the 500 deposit but the New photographer we got discounted us 500 and was 500 cheaper so we saved 500 in the end and he is awesome!

This question was recently asked over in the northern NJ forum where I spend most of my time.  The common answer was 70-100 for a 20-30 page album.

Our photographer is very open ended so in our case, it's kind of whatever we want.  We can add as many pages as we wish two at a time and iit's up to us f we want to increase the quantity of images per page.  That said, based on the samples he showed us, I can imagine doing an album in the 40-50 page range with 150ish images.  The extra pages will cost a few $'s, but it will allow us to keep the images large and do quite a few two-page panormas which we really love.
