I wish I knew more about my ancestory, however that will never happen. I never met my moms real father. He passed away when she was just a young girl. My dad does not know who his biological dad is. When my pap and gram married he formally adopted my dad. I want to try and find out the exact year of adoption and get a tattoo of it on my heel.

It's a-england Lady of the Lake. I highly recommend this brand.

We're on a little bit of a delay on the Olympics. That Mackayla Maroney is astounding on vault! WOW!

I hate when the commentators say what the athlete is currently thinking.  HOW THE FUCCK DO YOU KNOW ARE YOU A MIND READER?  It makes me crazy.
  • heb, that sucks. I mean, it's great he was adopted, but tough to have a dead end research-wise.

Gabby Douglas was pretty amazing on bars.

I'm digging this girl's floor music.
  • Hello. Impatiently waiting for gymnastics to start here-still on diving. Raining right now, which is good. Annoyed because I discovered today that top choice venue is 2000 more than I thought. Might be a dealbreaker.
Leisel, sorry your H is beaing a pain.

  • I was never really too interested in ancestry, but when my FIL passed away (at 85yrs old) a few years ago, we got all of his things.  Including all the family photos from his side that had been passed down to him.  We are talking about photos from the mid to late 1800s....they are so amazing....funeral prayer cards from the same time too...they used to be so ornate!

Then I got home and realized I was a fuckhead and locked myself out. That was a nightmare. 2 hours later with my neighbors help, we realized my bedroom window was open so he popped the screen for me and voila! I was in. Ugh.

<div>Very cool. I have always been a big history buff and family history can be really interesting. My uncle (my late mom's only sib) was here for the big bash and he and his wife had some great info for me today. Should help get me past the road blocks I'd encountered on a couple of lines. </div><div>

<div>Well TBH my grams was rather riskay for back in the day. The name listed on my dads BC was the last name of his older sisters father, who was not his real father. Obviously my grams was a babe back in the day. Or as her sister calls her, loose. bahaha </div>

  • Heb, that's really interesting.

Hockey, my grandpa has a ring that's been in his family for generations. He has pictures from the early 19th century of a relative wearing the ring. It's so cool thinking that ring has been passed down for such a long time. I also have copies of the immigration papers from my great grandparents. They were Slovenian, but came through Ellis Island from Austria. They had their names changed and everything, haha.
