Marriage License

We are getting married in Warren County. I've been trying to figure out how to obtain a license but am not having any luck. Does anyone know where/how? We don't have contact information from our pastor yet, so he can't really help.

Woohoo! I finally figured it out. I thought that we had to get a license from the county where we are getting married, but it turns out that it's the county in which you live. After that, I found the correct website.

Does anyone know if that's the case in Kentucky?  We're getting married in Boone County (Drees) but live in Ohio.  Where should we get our license?

Since there are a few OOT brides on this board, it's important to mention that non-Ohio residents must obtain their marriage licenses in the county in which their weddings will take place.

Yes, sorry. I should have mentioned that about OOT brides.

@katiea22: Yes, you have to get your marriage license in Montgomery County. You can apply no sooner than 60 days before your wedding.

Jenna - I don't know about Kentucky, but I'd guess it was similar to Ohio.  We live in Boston, but we got married in Hamilton County, so we got our marriage license in Hamilton County.  You most likely have to get your marriage license in Kentucky.  Probably the county where you're getting married.

go to the Hamilton County Probate Court website. In Ohio you obtain your marriage license in the Probate Court. THe site will take you from there.

anyone looking for info on where and how to get your marriage license should check the county's website or call to get the most acurate info.

    FOR EXAMPLE (edit for clarity):
here's the hamilton county site:  http://www.probatect.org/marriagelicenses/index.htm
"The residency of the applicants is also an issue.  Ohio residents wanting to marry in Ohio, apply in the county where they reside.  Out of state residents getting married in Ohio, apply in the county in which they are getting married."

i don't know anything about kentucky, but googled "kenton county, ky marriage license" and found their contact info: http://www.kentoncounty.org/county_officials/county_clerk/marriage_licenses.html

jennadietz - if your getting married at the Drees pavilion that overlooks Cincinnati, that is in Kenton County not Boone. (I don't know if its the same place you are getting married but I wanted to throw it out there in case it is)

I know that - she had just said in her post it was in Boone county, and I just wanted to let her know that if its the Drees that overlooks Cincinnati that is actually Kenton county!
