It's just so TEMPTING!!

FI has a tank top. He loves this tank top. Sadly, he wore it the night I met him (he was staying with a friend and this was what he changed into to sleep in that night) - he was not wearing it when we initially met - I assure you I have better taste than that lol.

I HATE this tank top. Exhibit A.

What's that hot pink blob you ask? Why, it's a pig in a grass skirt! Yes, a tank top with a hot pink hula dancing pig and a rat on it.

Exhibit B:

Many times, FI hides this tank top from me until he's ready to wear it because he's worried I'm going to throw it away.

I just found it lying on the bed. It's sooooooo tempting, but I'd never throw it out.

Does you SO have something he LOVES and you HATE and would throw out if you knew he'd never realize it?

Re: It's just so TEMPTING!!

  • Well since I am just now introducing H to what a "natural fiber" is...it's real easy for they dryer to "melt" the objects I hate.

We have two new mottos:  a drawer full of 20 year old T-shirts is not equal to "I have lots of clothes to wear" and "if it's not OK to wear outside of the house, it doesn't need to come into the house"

  • I have a few things he loves that I hate, but I would never throw them out. There are also many things I love that he hates so it's mutual.
My pet peeves include a 10 year old Mariah Carey concert t-shirt that is more holes than shirt, and a sweater that is pretty much disintegrating as we speak.
He hates my neon green track pants, and my super comfy shirt that is falling apart.
  • Yeah I'm dealing with Iron Maiden tank tops (?!!!) and two or three bowling type shirts that have...flames on them...

Obviously H was required to wear uniforms when I met him.  He looks really cute in Yachting Whites.

  • Oh yes, and he has about 50 white t-shirts. Nothing on them, nothing fancy, just cotton white t-shirt.
  • Oh and I'm teaching him that tech/whicking shirts can't be bought at target for $5 just because "the fabric is the same".  No Dear, it just feels the same.

Thankfully I had one given to me as a crew shirt (mens XL anyone) and made him wear it one day.  Funny, that's the day he DIDN'T break out in a heat rash...

  • My H has more obnoxious t-shirts that I can count.  I would love for them all to disappear.
This is H on our wedding day:

It says: Blah Blah Blah Blah My girlfriend never shuts up.  He wore that around an amusement park in Ohio all day - I got so many looks of pity.

  • I told H I would make him a t-shirt quilt out of his old t-shirts so he'd get rid of some. They are sitting in a bag in the guestroom closet. I actually looked into making him one, but damn, that's a lot of work. Someday I may bite the bullet and send them to one of those places that makes them for $200.

But at least he doesn't wear them anymore.

  • UGH. All of Fi's old ratty boxers and pit-stained undershirts. I have pulled out his torn up boxers SO MANY EFFING TIMES to throw them away, and he glares and me and retorts "how would you like if i threw away your panties?". I told him if he touched my Vickies I would castrate him. I compromised and threw away old ones that I planned on getting rid of anyways in exchange for getting rid of 3 pairs of his boxers. I will win this war. I will.

What is it with guys and old crap that they wear? Is it comfort? Something Familiar?

    FOR SALE!!.

  • I think most guys are packrats by nature.  However, my FI told me that when we're married, I get to throw out all the work clothing I don't like.  Sadly, he's never giving up his collection of crappy t shirts.

See I have the opposite problem.  My H lived on a yacht, with limited quarters.  He can't understand why anyone needs more than one pair of long pants, two dress shirts, 5 pairs of shorts and a scattering of T-shirts.

Yeah, i have most of the closet space.

Wow, am I jealous of you.  I would love a minimalist FI.

Sure, until you have to try to explain why, yes, you do in fact need yet another pair of summer shoes.

  • I guess the grass is always greener.  My FI endorses any pretty girl clothing purchases I make.  Thank goodness.  Now all I have to do is convince him to stop wearing his "You can read!" t shirt in public.
  • Well, we just paid to have all my previous pretty girl purchases shipped over from the states and after that price tag, i think I'm done for quite awhile.

His comment, "I thought you thinned out your clothes".  Uhm, yeah I sent 8 big black hefty bags to Good Will.  oops.

  • Hi! I am in MS too. I know where Flag Island is. That tank is horrible.

My H has a Ole Miss hat and well, I got to USM so he is basically a trader. The hat needs to get lost! He also has a Tee that says, "Free Gas" I hate that shirt and he is not allowed to wear it with me in public.

Rick - we live in Flowood - uncomfortably close to Flag Island! I noticed that this gem of a tank top is from a Labor Day shindig. I've never been to Flag Island - but I've heard some stories lol. I went to USM btw, SMTTT!!!! lol
  • My FI for the most part is a great dresser.

He unfortunately does this weird thing whare he buys undershirts with sleeves cuts them off immediately when he gets home, and wears them under his work button ups. He never wears them out without a shirt over them or anything, but why not just buy tank tops?

He doesn't like any of my flowy, loose tops.He says they make me look like I'm hiding a belly or something.I work with children and have to sit on the floor and whatnot all day.I have to have clothes that I can move around and not show everything in lol.

  • BF isn't too bad, but he has a problem with matching things... he dressed for church one day in a suit (good so far) with pinstripes (okay, not too bad). Then he "matched" it with a striped tie (it can be done), along with a striped shirt (NO).

    Too. many. stripes.
  • Oh I live in Byram :P I love shopping in Flowood!

  • FI has a TON of concert tee-shirts, but he never wears them. Won't get rid of them, but he doesn't wear them.

What I'd like to get rid of? All the socks with holes. He complains about them constantly, but won't throw them out and buy new ones.
