AA experience (a bit long...)

So I called a few weeks before Christmas asking AA for an appt for my BM to come and pick out their dresses at 3 on 1/2/10. Come the Sunday after Christmas, I am there with another BM who couldn't make the 2nd and decided to check the appt time. They had completely lost it, but luckily still had that time free. The girl who was supposed to be helping us pretty much gave us no help...I had to clip my friend in every dress (which I dunno, I guess might be a standard thing to do, but I had no clue if I was doing correctly). I told the lady on the 2nd that I was bringing 7 girls so we were going to need lots of help and clips.

So the 2nd comes and we get there and are told we have to wait for our consultant but can still look through the rack, which is no biggie. 15 -20 mins later, we are ready to try on, and still no one has approacched us. I ask the front desk if they know where our consultant is, and the girl flies into this thing about her manager saying that we were late and blah blah blah, which wasn't the case. The appt was at 3. We got there at 2:58 and if we were late on their clock, it had to be like 3:02, not even kidding. I didn't know they gave away appts that quickly. So the girls walks off and it turns into this whole thing with her needing to talk to every employee in the store about it. It wasn't a big thing, no one yelled, I just wanted a room so my girls would have to change in the middle of the store haha!! Finally we get 2 rooms, but still almost zero help for the girl who was supposed to have our appt, and again, I am clipping girls in dreses. Why did I even make an appointment then?!? I really miss my old consultant who no longer works there. She is a doll and so are some of the more experienced people. But why they can't seem to keep track of time and appointments is beyond me... Moral of the story, make sure like 3 times that they have your appt down and make sure they don't give it away at 3:02...

I've been having this same experience.  I went in on the 1st and was clipping the girls in their dresses.  I know they have all new staff.  I would call and ask for Tammy.  She is one of the magagers.  Let her know your experience.  and I would make any appt with her from her on out.  Unfortunately she wasn't there when we had our appts.  It really sucks that there customer service is this bad.  they seem to focus just on the brides and let everyone else fend for themselves.

Ive been there once and had the same experience and was very turned off. I had to clip my bridesmaids because my consultant was never around etc. I was even more upset because i decieded to try on a dress since I haven't bought one yet. She never came to help me. Then I change in to my regular clothes and wait around 15 minutes to let her know I was done and leaving ( I should have just left) and she has the nerve to say "Oh your not in the dress anymore" as if it is ok to have a bride in a wedding dress for 15 minutes waiting around in a dress she doesnt like. I will not return and definitely enjoy the smaller stores. They should not have cosultants as its more like every bride for themselves.

I went once before and got a consultant that was awesome. I liked her a lot. I went again later, and got a different person that I didn't really care for very much.

I guess it just depends who is there to help, but in the future, I would make appointments with specific people. I dont'remember the name of the lady I had the first time, but I can find her card and let you know her name. I didn't end up getting anything there. In the end, I actually found the bridesmaids' dresses at Dillards and I like them so much better than anything at the Bridal stores that I went to.

Oh believe me, I totally would have made my appt w/  my consultant if she were still there because she was awesome! But I don't have anymore need to go back there since the girls have their dresses so I'm ok. Don't get me wrong, it's a great store. But the past 2 times I've been there w/ the new staff, it's been subpar service for sure. I hate to bad mouth them but come on....

Ok, well, I'm glad you at least got the dresses and don't have to go back! :)

don't even get me started on Alfred Angelo. I will NEVER EVER EVER buy anything from them again!  Which, is unfortunate, because my dress is from there.

I had TWO bad experiences, much like yours.  They were super friendly to me the first time around, with picking out a dress and all.  Then, when I came to pick up the dress, I had to do it all myself.  My MOH had the same experience with her dress, and they even RIPPED her dress, trying to fit her into something that they ordered too small.

That is definitely the condensed versions of what happened, but I will never recommend that someone go to them, or buy anything from them.  We are looking elsewhere for the BM dresses for the wedding.

The main thing I learned...in our experiences there is... #1 there are only 2 people there I will deal with(Tammy being one(because she is a manager and because I have known her for years) and the other being Alisha (because she has been the person who helped us every time we were there and #2 order a size above the size your girls try on no matter if it fits or not. As we found out...regardless of their measurements fitting the dresses they tried on and regardless of the fact all of my girls fit into the dresses they tried on with breathing room when the dresses came in they were smaller....no one bothered to inform us of the fact that the stores dresses were stretched out until AFTER we were there picking up our dresses...okay perhaps this is my misunderstanding(I suppose I SHOULD have known this but the fact is that they encouraged us to order the dress in the sizes tried on so we really had no indication there would be an issue. There is 2 inches total let out room in the dresses so we "SHOULD" be fine but it's the principal...plus you would think they would say "order the next size" so they could alter it for you....if it's too small 2 inches isn't a lot of room. okay point being LOL 1 dress is still too small....(which is my sisters and really isn't the stores fault) but wouldn't be AS small had we been encouraged to order a larger size....so my point is....order a larger size....just my 2 cents.
