1 Photographer or 2?

I would like to know if you used or are using 1 photographer for the whole day, or did you hire and extra?  Was it worth the money if you did? I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not.  Any help would be appreciated!

    We had only 1 but we also had about 100 people and it worked out great.   I believe, but I can def be wrong, the advice that I have heard with this topic is that if you have under 200 guests, 1 photographer is fine but if you have over 200, more than one photographer is recommended. hth

    We're going with 2.  We're inviting 185, so I figure about 150 will attend.  The schedule is pretty tight so I felt having 2 would help us move through the formal pictures alot more quickly.  We don't want to miss our cocktail hour.

    That's a good point, Sami. I didn't think about speeding up the formal pictures.  We don't want to miss our cocktail hour either, but I don't want him to see me before I walk down the aisle.  Thanks, I'll use that point at the "justification of expenses" meeting we have at least once a week!

    Our photopgraher came with an assistant, which I really didn't think anything of until we got our pictures back.They gave us pictures at different angles & lighting & closeups. We got more pictures of different varieties because they were coming from 2 people at different spots during the wedding. Our photopgraher was really good at getting the photojournalism of the wedding and the assistant had good ideas for formal shots. Their uniqueness gave us awesome pictures.

    So if you are debating it, I would say to do it, depending on your budget of course!
