     We have 6 on each side, one junior bridesmaid (she will be 14) and one "junior" groomsman (my brother is 17). I understand that it is hard to "pick". We are going to use bridesmaids and groomsman to do readings/usher etc. I say do what makes you happy!

     I was a groomswoman at my brother's wedding, I was a bridesmaid at a wedding where the sides are uneven (gasp) and I was a bridesmaid at a wedding where there was a man of honor. Oh the horror, uneven sides and mixed gender wedding parties! Guess what? No one gave a fuck, a shit or even a flying rat's ass!

     I agree with everyone. If they are older than 8, I would consider having a junior bridesmaid. I was a junior bridesmaid in my aunt's wedding when I was 9 or 10, don't quite remember. My flower girl will be 5 and my ring bearer, her brother, will be almost 3.

     Yes, you're being selfish. You're not close with the bride, but you expect her to ask you to be a bridesmaid? As a PP said, your brother is responsible for maintaining his relationships with his family.

     I've had really good experiences there. We got my dress, mom's dress, and bridesmaids dresses there for my wedding. We also used them for both of my brothers' weddings.

     I just figured we would do it by height but my FI wants his brothers to be right after his BM. So their bridesmaid "partner" will be in the same spot on the opposite side.

     Let the moms wear whatever colors they want. They don't need to match or coordinate. My brother is getting married this year. Bridesmaids are in red, one mom is wearing navy, the other is in black.
