Honeymoon in San Diego

Hello Ladies:I'm from Miami & I'm planning on spending a few days in San Diego for my honeymoon. We're taking a cruise from San Diego & then we plan on driving to LA. Is the drive really long? Also, any "must do" things we should do while in San Diego? Thank you!!! :)

Hello! The cruise terminal in San Diego is downtown, so it would depend what time you are leaving and what part of L.A. you're heading to.  A good guideline is to leave no later than 1pm from downtown SD which should put you to LAX by 3:30p.  Since you're coming from Miami, you'll notice that SD nightclubs and theme parks try to imitate what you do out there, so you may want to skip 'em.  Balboa Park is the largest in North America and contains 15 different type of musuems, beautiful greenery and fountains, and a free Botanical Garden. Since our shark sightings are few and far between, maybe try surfing or paddle boarding. La Jolla is a romantic & fun spot with shops, restaurants and fantastic ocean views. I skipped suggesting the wine country as it's in the NE corner of our county and not convenient for the drive to L.A., but definitely worth noting. All the best,Suzie

Its not a long drive as long as you dont leave any day later then 3 pm- otherwise your looking at 4-5 hours of mostly just sitting in traffic for huge chunks of time once toy hit orange county which gets old really fast. i suggest leaving at 10 or 11 am to avoid rush hours and you can get there in 2-3 hours.
