90's Fashion?

I have an event tonight, its a 90's theme fundraiser. I need an outfit and some inspiration.

Any ideas?

    Hmm, let me see if I can find some pics of me in high school...

    Edit: I have an awesome Hole t-shirt. I'd probably wear that. Which isn't any help to you.

    A ruffled solid color skirt, white t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a vest with fishnet stockings and like PP said, combat boots.

    I had one of those pink pens with the feather-thing on the end when I was a sophomore, like Cher has in Clueless.

    I would stay away from Britney Spears and other things from late 98-99... people tend to confuse them with 2000 looks.

    I would stick more to grunge...
    ... Courtney Love and Donna Martin and baby doll dresses with Doc Martens.

    Are you talking 1991 or 1999?  For me, the early 90's were all midriff tops, super baggy jeans, giant earrings, knee high suede boots, daisy dukes, shiny shoes, sheer tops with bra tops, brown eyeliner as lip liner, baseball caps, baseball jerseys, revival of disco looks (bell bottoms with bell tops that tied over bra tops), etc.

    The slouch jean was THE jean for 1993.

    Now with more wedded bliss.

    I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

    I went through a hip hop phase in the early 90s....matching bright denim jeans and shirts....like in green, yellow, etc. Damage, Used, Cross Colours, etc.   I am very very ashamed.

    I wore combat boots in white and black.  I still am obsessed with a pair of 1991 Chanel combat boots with a gold CC on the toe.  I ordered them then felt like I shouldn't spend $1200 of my student loans on combat boots and cancelled the order.

    I also loved cowboy boots.

    Baby tees...big time.  Small, tight, showing the midriff.  Especially with a Bebe logo.

    I also went through a phase of trying to imitate the Gucci suit with a shirt with big white lapels, a shiny blazer and cropped black pants with spectator men's style shoes..which are back in now.

    I also always think of the black nylon Prada bags, which got huge in the late 90s.

    I wore my hair slicked back a lot in a high coiffed bun or afro puffs.  Or I had a china doll bob.

    Late 90s I wore lots of head to toe black, but I still do that a lot.  Living in Vegas now I can tell it is a big midwest thing.  West coast girls wear more color and lightness. Chicago and Detroit girls often dress in all black and when I see a whole group dressed like that, I always think they are Chicago girls.
