Leap night! (Wednesday night thread)

I have lasgna in the oven baking and watching Switched at Birth while I do homework.

FI is upstairs studying.
Then we'll eat and watch the finale of Top Chef.

What is everyone else doing this evening?

  • I just spent $30 on Amazon with the click of a button. Saving my payment information on there was a dangerous thing.
I am also waiting on FI to get home from driving an overnight field trip to Tallahassee.

  • I'm getting ready to go watch this weeks Parenthood.  I figure while H is at the gym is a good time to do it so I can be done crying before he gets home.

Crash, I love your sig pic BTW.

Yeah he drives a school bus for a private school and the 5th graders went to Tallahassee to meet Rick Scott.

EDIT: I swear I wasn't talking to myself

  • lasagna sounds excellent.
Nothing too exciting going on here.  My dad was just diagnosed with RA, so I went with him to his appointment to talk about medications.  I picked up a crib my mom wanted for her house for my future niece/nephew and carted that over there.  Good thing I'm short, since I had to put my seat up all the way to get it to fit in there.  Took my fat cat to the vet this morning to get him checked out.  Poor Fatty has a open puncture wound on his back :(
Yeah, like I said, nothing exciting :)

  • Hello!  (I am so excited that I'm on this early on a Wednesday night; usually I'd be halfway through my class right now!)

H and I had pulled pork and roasted red potatoes for dinner.  I just took a hot bath and he's playing Halo with some friends.  I plan on spending the rest of the night finishing some homework for tomorrow.

Rard, I could lose so much money on Amazon if I wasn't careful!

  • FI and I went downtown for burgers and walked around for a bit. Now we're back just watching Supernatural. I'm suppose to go to a friend's house to watch a movie around 9:30 but I'm getting tired so I might ask for a rain check.
  • Hi.

I just got ready to go shopping for interview clothes with H but he passed out and there's no waking him now. I'm kinda pissed that he told me get ready even after I said he's not going to get up if he lays down. He's had some really late nights at the studio though.

I have an interview with a recruiter tomorrow and am about to start some online skills testing right now (may be a P&R). I'm so nervous! I also got called for an interview for Friday from an unsolicited resume I sent on Monday. They said they don't have anything open right now but are "very impressed" by my resume and want to talk to me.  Eek!

  • I just got home from the hospital. We delivered two babies this leap year (a lot for our small town hospital).
  • Thanks Girlie!

I like to watch my shows while FI is out too. That way he's not popping in bothering me. lol

I just got home and I'm  trying to motivate myself to make dinner.

Bay, is your H grouchy with all his crazy shifts and tons of hours? My H stayed up all night last night and slept until noon today trying to get onto the graveyard schedule. He starts tonight working 10PM - 8 AM and he's super grouchy. It's hard for everyone.
  • Yeah, H doesn't get Parenthood (really doesn't get why I cry over it) but I don't get Archer so I guess we're even.  :)

Bay, your dinner sounds wonderful!  I did a roasted garlic red mashed potato dish last month which has sold me on red potatoes forever.

  • So I guess your class got cancelled Bay?
I love getting snow days even though it very rarely happens here.

  • I'm sorry to hear that Erin. It is hard to be on opposite schedules, I understand.
  • Erin, he's actually the opposite.  He's thrilled when he gets more hours and is grouchy when he doesn't get his 64 a week between both jobs.  The first few weeks were rough...and then he saw his first paychecks.  That brought him up a little bit.  Plus he says that he "hardened" to the hours now.

He was never someone who got grumpy with the hours, so much as just...exhausted.  And he still gets that way.  A few weeks ago he worked 4 PM - 8 AM, came home, told me he was fine, and then fell asleep from 3 PM until 3:45 AM.  He doesn't get grouchy, he just crashes, hard.

<div>Okay, I am really trying to break out of my newbie shell and I am getting extremely frustrated with TK! What is the point in posting versus lurking if TK eats all your posts...</div>
  • Hi there. I just got home from work and am about to go finish making dinner. We had a freak snowstorm this morning that lasted about an hour but dumped a ton of snow. And it made my commute go from 20 min- an hour so I've felt behind all day.
  • Kelly, I can't see any of your posts but I do see someone quoted you. SO HI!
  • Evening all.

I'm trying to pick out which of our e-pics we want to order. There are a lot of pictures to look at. I'm also watching Biggest Loser from last night.

I wish we could have a snow day. Pretty sure it has been in the 80s lately so it's not like I can even pretend it might happen.

  • Hi!  I'm watching Parenthood tonight.  Going to bed early I hope cause my nose has been stuffed up on one side.  H had a sinus infection and I'm afraid he gave it to me :(.

Today was weird... it was 34 and pouring rain when I went to work this morning and I spent the day in a room with no windows.  I put my gloves on and buttoned my coat and braced myself before walking out the door.. Freakin' 68 and sunny.  I felt foolish (but happy :))

  • Crash -- yep!  First snow day all semester.  I am loving it.  Spending the night in and going to bed at a reasonable hour trumps driving back from school at 10 PM and coming home to a sleeping H.

I've been wanting to plant too but apparently I keep spending money online, haha.  I think after the wedding I am going to step-up the yard though.  I really want to fence in the backyard.  I'm paranoid about outdoor decorations being stolen for some reason.
I would just have flowers indoors but then my cats try to eat them =/

Yeah I don't wake H up anymore, ever.  If we need to be someplace I remind him to set his alarm.  He responds favorably to the alarm.  Not so much to my "OH HI!  YOU'RE AWAKE?  LET'S GET UP AND DO THINGS!"

  • Hello. I am mega grumpy tonight. I just found out the responsibilities I've had at work for the last 2 months are now no longer mine, they're going to a guy who's been at the job 1 year less than me, and I get to do his job (my previous role) which I hated. So I am drinking wine and pouting.

Bay, my FI is the same way about being woken up by me. He reacts so, so much better to his alarm.

  • I agree that this TK IT business is rediculous.  It's gone on way too long.  Either figure out how to do it right or stop messing with it... don't just keep crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.
