I love your dress!</strong>  We've been 60s-80s all week...apparently it's going to rain this weekend. I want to plant flowers but I'm afraid we'll get a freeze in March and I'd have to start all over again.

It is. It was a last minute find a few days before the pics. I really liked it. It was the only one at the store left.

I'm trying to keep up with the conversation but I can't tell if I just can't see it or if it has stopped.

  • Hi kids!  H and I decided to take a break from unpacking and have dinner and a few games of bowling.  Now I'm debating how much unpacking I feel like doing.

Today sort of sucked.  My movers continue to irritate me.  I went to do the final walk through of our rental house with the landlord, and I discovered that the movers left the mattress boxes upstairs in the house that we moved out of (since they were so late on Sunday and brought too small a truck, they finished the move without me on Monday morning, so I didn't know that they left a ton of empty boxes in the old place).  The movers tried to pass the buck onto my maid saying that it was her responsibility to throw out or truck away any empty boxes.  Um, no, my maid isn't going to lift 7'x7' boxes down the stairs and truck them off in her minivan.  My 300 lb movers with the big truck are supposed to do that.

    Grr.
  • I told them that it's their responsibility.  And mentally I told myself never to use their services again.  They had really pressed me to hire them to paint and do other stuff around the house, but they made so many promises this move that were never fulfilled.  :(
  • Wow Mica. Those movers are really a piece of work. I hope you review them on yelp or angies list or something. Yikes.

Holly, I'm watching AI too. I've pretty much disliked all the girls tonight with the exception of Jen Hirsch.

  • Stupid movers.

We just signed up for Run For Your Lives.  I'm way too excited.

[QUOTE]Ugh Mica.  I always wonder how companies like that stay in business, because almost certainly, you aren't the only person they've treated like that.

  • Is Run for Your Lives the zombie thing?
I need to start running again.  I almost convinved myself to go this morning since it was so nice out.  But then I convinced myself it was too windy.
    Yup, that's how I operate.

  • Mica - can you link me again your salted caramel recipe?  My friend teased me and told me she was going to bring some to our girls weeked a few weekends ago and didn't.  I have been thinking about them ever since.

  • Is she the one from NY? She definitely is full of herself. I don't even know why I continue to watch AI, really.

  • I've been looking at puppies today a lot online. We need to wait probably another month before a litter will be in the welp range that we are looking for, but I'm still excited.

I want a puppy.  One of my clients has a very tiny, very adorable kitten, and I wanted to put it in my purse and take it home with me.

  • Turkey tacos, Bree?  Turkey sloppy joes?  Turkey shepherd's pie?  (I've got a good recipe for the shepherd's pie.  Or cottager's pie.  Or whatever the fuuck it's called with turkey.)

  • Aw, J! I would too. We decided to go with a chessie this time, and we are not going to make the mistake of getting it from a breeder that doesn't have a written hip guarentee!

  • Sorry you are having so much trouble with the movers Mica. I had movers not show one time and when we called about it the guy in charge of booking cursed at my dad and hung up on him. Good movers must be hard to find in our area.

Is a chessie a Chesapeake Bay Retriever?  My dad's friend had one, and when I was 8, that dog was bigger than me, and I remember it had a huge head, and therefore a huge mouth, and I was pretty sure it was going to eat me.

  • Hi !

Just finished dinner with my aunt and uncle.  Not close at all to them at all. Like I might see them every 5 years or so for a wedding or funeral.  Mostly because both my uncle and dad had jobs that make us transfer a lot, so we didn't live near each other.  Not because we don't like each other.

I was surprised they picked up dinner.  We both had 2 drinks and we ordered a lot of food and some were expensive dishes, because well, we always do.

    Oh well.

Yep! Chesapeake Bay retriever. They are much bigger retrievers than labs or goldens, which is one of the reasons J wants one for hunting. He also has had chessies all his life growing up, so he is really familar with their training needs, etc.

  • Haha I love Chef-D's innocent little puppy look there.

  • I have a friend who had a Chesapeake Bay Retriever (passed away a few years back) They are awesome dogs.

We would be on St John and say "Chester, go get the Frisbee".

Chester would come back a little while later wet with the frisbee.

Now mind you Chester had to walk a block to the beach, swim to a boat, climb up on the boat, get the frisbee, swim back and walk another block to where we were.

    I loved that dog
