My first towel cake

My sister in law is very crafty and made one of these for my other sister in law's baby shower. I made this one for my friend's wedding. Your thoughts?

Yeah, I was going to say it is pretty but I don't understand it. Is it just a way to decorate towels that you're giving as gifts at the wedding? I've heard of diaper cakes but not towel cakes.

</div><div>If you have ever seen a diaper cake for a baby shower, it is a similar idea. If you google diaper cake there are a ton of examples. Probably the same for shower cake. They are usually used as a decoration for the shower and as a gift to the bride.</div>

I probably should have explained it better. It is not mean to ask!

There were bathroom towels on the registry, so I bought them and instead of wrapping them I rolled them up into what looks like this 2 tier cake. Then add the flowers and voila! Towel cake.

It is very similar to the diaper cake, but we do it with towels too.

I think it's cute, especially as a shower decoration. I've seen one before and it didn't look nearly as nice.

Ok, you asked for an honest opinion and here's mine as a DIY/crafty/artistic person by nature and trade, it's VERY cute, but if it were me, I'd replace the two yellow flowers with pink ones so they match, or put the two yellows in the middle of the pink so they're the eye-catcher in the center. Other than that, it's adorable, nice job

Ah that makes sense!! The store only had a few daisies. That's also how the pink flowers happened. The shower isn't until Saturday. I'm gonna go back to the craft place and see if they got more daisies in and switch it up. I am new to crafting and love advice!

So there's a stationary shop near where I work and they have a towel cake in the window and it's nowhere near as cute as yours!

I really like the idea of a towel cake. And I think I like the towels. But I hate the flowers. There's just too many of them and they overpower everything else. Maybe if you started over with them and just used a few? Maybe just white ones? Then I think it would be pretty cool.

I love this! I'm such a sucker for wrapping/packaging.

I do think the flowers are too big, and there are too many. Regular daisies would be pretty, just sprinkled aruond on it, or just a pretty ribbon bow around each tier would work, too.

I think I will remove some of the flowers and find a different way to hide the seams / edges. The ribbon is just keeping them rolled up. My SIL used that stuff you put in the easter basket (no idea what it is called...the green grassy stuff) and that looked cute too.

I wish I could think of another way to do it. This chick is REALLY crafty and she is my MOH, so I was trying to do something along those lines for her.

She is using gerbera daisies just like these. I'm not sure why I added the pink ones. Thanks and let me know how yours turns out!
