Wine and champagne as wedding favors

I'm thinking about having wine and champagne on my tables as wedding favors. I'm trying to decide if i should do mini-bottles for all the guests (kind of expensive) or just have a couple bottles per table with personalized labels that say "Please join us in a toast to our happiness". Would it be rude to have people share the bottles on the table or should I do the individual bottles?

Thanks!

If your doing them as favors, they should be individual.  Otherwise people may think they are just part o fthe drink service.  Each guest should be able to take the favor with them, not have to share and consume on site.  Just be sure to check with your venue, a lot of places don't allow alcohol favors depending where you are and their laws.  I know all the places we looked at wouldn't allow it, bc legally any alcohol has to be provided by the venue.

Typically favors are for individuals or couples.

There are tons of small bottles available for individuals.  If it is something for the toast, I would say it's not a favor.  But if it is something they can choose to open or choose to take home, then it is a favor.

Typically a favor is something that you take home with you at the end of the party.  So a community bottle of wine/champagne doesn't fit the bill.  If you want to do this, have mini bottles for each person.

"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

I did the mini-bottles of champagne and I did one per couple.  Where I live, they are available in 4-packs, so I bought a few at a time when I would go grocery shopping.  That way, I didn't have to shell out all the money at once.  With the 4-packs at $6.99 each, it came out to less than $2 per person (not including the cost of labels, ribbons, and favor tags).

We were thinking of doing  mini bottles of wine as well for our favors.  They were actually much more affordable than I thought they would be.  They ranged from 1.99 for a brand that I have never heard of to 2.99 for the brand that I actually drink.  These prices are from a local liquor store in my area, but they have a website that you can check out for pricing.  valencialiquor.com .  It might give you a good idea for your budget.
