I know lots of people try to plan their engagement pictures and makeup trial on the same day, but my wedding and makeup artist are two hours away, so I don't have that option.

I assume that you need better makeup coverage in engagement pictures like you do wedding pictures right, because they're similar quality? So what are my options here?

I was thinking about going to a department store makeup counter and have them do my makeup, or does anyone have any good drug store makeup? Any tips on how to do makeup for engagement pictures?

I know a lot of people that had makeup consults done at Sephora or JC Penny's for their engagement pics, but I also know a lot of people that just did their own makeup. Do you like how you do your makeup? If so you can always go that route. I had a makeup trial at Sephora and I hated how my makeup turned out. Everyone agreed that I did it better myself!

I would also go to Sephora or the MAC counter. I've actually had the best experience with makeup applications at a MAC counter. And the best part is that it is free :)

I did my own using MAC and Urban Decay products and I loved the out come.

I went to Sephora and it was great. And all it 'costs' is a $50 gift card. I will be going back for my wedding.

I did my makeup myself. I do my makeup daily with all Mary Kay products (yes, I'm biased). I didn't feel the need to get it professionally done since I already know how & have products at my disposal. If you don't do your makeup often or feel you'd have to buy too many things to achieve the look yourself, then definitely go to a makeup counter, like the PP said.

I did my own makeup for E-pics and the wedding and everything turned out really well. I used really good foundation and primers and my makeup looked really good. I think that e-pics are a lot more natural looking than wedding pictures, so pro makeup isn't as much of a *need* for these, unless you really feel that you lack the skills.
