Merry Christmas Eve (Day)!

Hey ladies!! What's everyone up to today?

I got up & cleaned the apartment because my parents have decide to come spend Christmas Eve with us (and the apt really needed a good cleaning anyways).

I just set everything out to start baking the 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies I planned to make today until I realize I do not have baking soda nor do I have a car to go to the grocery store nor do I have cash to go to the corner store up the street.  So that'll have to wait until FI gets home around 5.

I guess I should start packing.  I hate packing.  Which is worse: packing or unpacking?

Re: Merry Christmas Eve (Day)!

  • Merry Christmas Eve!! :) I hate both. But I'd rather unpack than pack. Because I always worry that I'm forgetting something.

I got up, showered/shaved, straightened my hair and made BF and I lunch :)
I've got meatballs, smore croissants and chocolate peanut butter croissants to make for our Christmas Eve g2g with BF's Dad's family and BF has to make bacon wrapped tator tots.

Currently curled up on the couch watching the Jets vs as Ollie put it, the VaGiants heehee
  • Unpacking because you have to put everything away.

I am up and dressed.  Over at FI's house about to watch an NCIS before wrapping a bunch.  My mom is trying to rope me into cleaning the house for an hour but I was sneaky and avoided her.  Though she will most likly call later and demand my help.  Oh well, c'est la vie.  I might make my mint fudge later, I have been craving it :)  Yummy!

  • Happy Christmas eve to you too RDR!!!

Jeff and I about to be on the way to his uncle's house for their Christmas celebration. It started at one. It is now 1:30 our time. Jeff was supposed to make some egg thing and he messed it up so it took forever. So now we're extremely late. Gosh dangit I hate being late! I suppose at least we can get there for a little bit.

My little sister is 8 and so Santa is coming tonight. I'm excited for that!! :) I still get gifts from 'santa' and it's the best. haha

I made chanterelle mushroom risotto for Andrew for lunch. :) He's going to work (boo)- and I'm going to his parents for their traditional soup and salad (I'm bringing the salad).

I'm wrapping presents now- slightly tipsy- and watching The Grinch. :)

And I can't help but AW a present that my bestfriend got me. I LOOOOVVE it!

  • Just got home from Mass where I went to hear my mom sing in the choir.
We'll be leaving for my uncle's soon where I'll see my mom's side of the family, which is always a good time.

I'm currently feeling a little grinch-y, I'm not sure why. Hopefully seeing my family will perk me up :)

  • My parents came over today to celebrate Christmas with me. Mama and I cleaned the house and Daddy installed new lights and began breaking down the wall separating the front and back living rooms. After we finished, we had dinner from the vegetarian restaurant down the street -- I had spaghetti squash pad Thai, Mama had Buffalo beans and greens with tofu and Daddy had sweet potato and black bean tacos. So good :d.

Now I'm finishing up the day with making a bûche de Noël and fixing Tyler's comforter that Zoë got into.

  • omfg I made a perfect meringue even though I haven't made one in like six years or something
