(Yes, it poured down rain the day we did our e-pics)

I just ordered and haven't received them yet so I can't speak to the print quality. We did a standard postcard to save money, and used one of the standard Vistaprint templates because I didn't have time to design anything fancy. FI is going all out on the website, though.
This is one of the designs that I was looking at yesterday!!!!! I narrowed it down to 2, this being one of them!

Where are you guys taking your engagement pics?

I think ours are going to be pretty standard. We want to do magnets, and we took e-pics in DUMBO. I want to use one of the pictures with the city skyline in the background. The designs I have been interested in are very minimal, because I want the skyline to really be the focal point.

@Pinkow13 Maybe I've missed this in the past but are you a BK girl??
I did live in BK when I moved out on my own for a couple of years, but I'm really a Manhattan girl.

FI is a BK boy, though! Are you a BK girl??

@Pinkcow13 H was born and raised in Bensonhurst.  He lived there up until 2012.  He moved with his family to SI the day before Sandy.

We got our StD magnets from Vistaprint using a groupon deal. They ended up being fairly formal, but we liked the blue design and got a ton of compliments on them!

FI was born and raised in Kensington, and when we both had our own apartments we ended up living in Bay Ridge, which is not far from Bensonhurst. That was one of the neighborhoods that I went apartment hunting in!

loro929. We went with Minted and everything came out beautifully. They can address your envelopes as well, which was a huge bonus for me. They weren't cheap, but they looked amazing. We chose this design and added text on the back:  http://www.minted.com/product/save-the-date-cards/MIN-8W8-STD/big-city-chicago?org=photo

So we want to do something fun for our Save the Dates but not spend a crazy amount of time on it since we are both so busy (don't want to do a video or something like that.)  Just a cool idea we can have printed.  We are doing engagement photos in a few weeks so can definitely do something then.  So, what did you do for yours?  Or what are some cool ones you've seen?
Thanks for posting this! I'm finding the replies really helpful since I'm also shopping for save the dates. Looks like we're on about the same timeline.

We did this design from Wedding Paper Divas:
    http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/product/10857/save_the_date_postcard_stunning_flourish.html#color/01

We changed the font to a coral color, and our picture was grey scale (so our wedding colors). The professional editor who made custom changes for us was fantastic. We did a plain card with nothing on the back. The price was just too much for us to do magnets.

ALSO order like 5 extra envelopes!! You will mess up addressing a STD and you don't want to be out of envelopes!

I'm looking around for them too... Just waiting on my un-watermarked e-pics!
I think I'll do postcards rather than magnets to save postage.

Question: Ceremony and reception are in two different towns... which do I use as the location? ? Reception venue is the bigger town.

luckya23 I would put down the ceremony site. You can be more specific in your invites or use an insert for your invites

We had the same situation.  I put the city of our ceremony venue on our STD, but you can do either / or.  It really shouldn't matter.

Hmm.. I generally say ceremony town, but if they are close enough together and you just want to generalize location, the bigger town is okay to put. I've really seen it done both ways. My friends wedding was in one small town, but she put the nearby large city on her STD so people would know general location in the state. I think it's totally personal preference.

We definitely did a non-traditional STD. DH was geeking like whoa as he made it. And he had a blast handing them out to friends and family. Some of our friends still have it on their fridge because it's so cool.

We had our e pics taken at Deep Cut Gardens in NJ, and then chose 3 pics to use for our STD magnet. We used New and Blue. They were awesome!

I totally forgot about these.  I loved them when you first posted them.

OP, sorry, I can't help.  We sent out an e-mail - We're going to Hawaii in a year, so book early if you want to come, or something nicer than that.  VIP's got consulted and discussed in person.

Our STD's were made to look like I guess season tickets. H did all the work for them. I found the idea on pinterest and my H loved it. On the front was our picture and info.On the back was the wedding website.

We did football Jersey's of our teams each with a 10 on them for 10/10/15. I am thinking we might use this design from Magnet street since its a fall wedding.

SITB that is the layout we used to! I like that the letters are see through

I love the see through letters too! Our main wedding color will be blue, and the picture I used brings out the blue in it, so it works perfect with the see-through letters. Not sure if I made much sense there lol.

FI requested STD magnets that looked like a UFC fight poster. I can only imagine what this looks like on people's fridges.

I got my STDs from Zazzle.

That's also where I bought my Save the Dates.
