Re: It's Hump Day!

  • That happened to me, too. As soon as one thing is fixed, something else is messed up. Good luck!
We went out to eat dinner last night which is a BIG deal in the middle of the week. They brought seasoned steamed crab in a bag and we got to wear bibs. YUMMMM.
  • I can't keep my eyes open and the strange guy at work is on one again.

This week is taking too long.

  • Good morning! FI comes home from his 'boys weekend' today, which consisted of making sure his friend didn't screw up his new hardwood floor that he was installing. Hoping to actually get a full nights sleep tonight, in ever sleep deeply without him there. Upstairs neighbors had a loud fight at midnight last night, which involved the guy yelling and stomping around like a 4 year old. Strongly reconsidering whether purchasing the house as an income property is worth living around people another 2+ years. I'm feeling a little crowded right now. The older I get, the less tolerant I am of other people's BS!

  • Random: Does anyone else watch Breaking Bad? I'm starting to have weird dreams about it! We're going back and watching it, and we're about halfway through season 2.
  • Yes! I love breaking bad.

I had a few dreams about it but mostly a normal dream with a few people in it.

  • IT'S DONE!!!!

The show was great; the kids did awesome jobs. The festival closed last night, so it was just our school and the cameo by one of the visiting artists. The audience got the jokes, the students delivered their lines with impressive skills, and the adjudicator had nothing but good things to say about our performance. I couldn't have been more proud if I'd given birth to them!

now a brief interlude while we choose the next script! (two different plays in March)

I haven't been able to enjoy Breaking Bad. I'm a Mad Men and GoT kind of girl ...

Today's is FI's birthday. Not sure if we're going out for supper or I'm cooking. His day, his choice ... (although I'd really, REALLY like to go out ...)

  • I've only watched the first episode, I can't decide if it's too out there for me.

  • Morning ladies! Angel. Loud, inconsiderate people suck. I'm excited about my Dad's party tonight. I hope we are able to pull off the surprise

  • Good morning!

Swag - I LOVE Breaking Bad.  I'm on the last episode of season 3.  Man, that's a good show.

I haven't dreamt about it, though.  I have other (very random) dreams instead.  Monday night I was transporting a murderer in a van, and she kept laughing at me because she thought I was going to be her next victim.  And the driver's seat in the van was on the floor and I couldn't see out of the windshield to drive.  Then I woke up.  Weird.

  • Morning all!

I'm very sleepy today since I worked late last night. Just hanging out in my office for the morning, then I have to spend all afternoon at a health fair. Boo.

FI watches breakign bad religiously. I watch it most of the time with him, but if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't.

I agree AJB, this week is wayyy too long. Sucks having three very short weeks in a row then trying to go back to real life time. Ugh.

  • Morning ladies!

It's been a weird day already! H has had workshops all week so he wont be home till late again tonight. I'm trying to make a list of who we havent bought for right now, so I can finish up shopping. And I think I'm going to clean and decorate this weekend, so it's done before the grandbaby gets here.

Swag-We've watched Breaking Bad from the beginning, but I've started to lose interest myself. H still really enjoys it.

  • Morning ladies!

Love Breaking Bad! Sometimes it's a little much for me, but it's a show FI and I will watch together, which is nice.

Edie, I'm the same way. I had last week off because of Thanksgiving, which was great, but now I'm so thrown off.

I'm grumpy today because we got wrong info from someone in FI's Church (Catholic, I'm non-denom) and now they only do wedding ceremonies before 1pm (we were thinking 4pm). This means that we won't get the dinner & party atmosphere because everything will be shifted up. FI will be making the decision because he is the one who is Catholic and I would never take getting married in the church away from him, but either way we lose, which sucks.

  • Morning ladies!  This morning has been super busy at work and I think the afternoon might be even worse blah.  I had a kind of "moment" last night... I'm trying to research fertility doctors in our area and I have no idea how to choose one.  Florida doesn't have any laws requiring insurance to cover fertility treatments so I can't even try to narrow it down that way. I don't know anyone that has gone to a fertility specialist so I have no one to ask for recs and I feel like my GYN is being unsupportive because of H's health which I think is totally inappropriate and unprofessional so she is no help in finding someone (<--- HELLO run-on sentence!).  I'm just so frustrated.  I knew this would be difficult but daaamn!

On another note, my H is awesome.  He seriously knows exactly what to say to make me feel better about this stuff.  I listed every single one of my fears and he had a positive game-plan response to each and every one.

  • Shay, sorry you're having a hard time. Sounds like you've got amazing support from your H though, which is fantastic! PS- I'm new here, nice to 'meet' you!

  • Sorry to hear about all that, Shay.  Keeping you in my thoughts.

My morning has been alright, a bit slow though.  We ate SO much on the honeymoon, and now I'm going back to my normal calories and it's really hard...I'm always super hungry in the morning.  I had to resist warm, fresh DONUTS this AM....I did well, but I will wanted one even after I had my oatmeal.

Tonight I'm going out for dinner with a friend to catch up and then watching Casino Royale with my HUSBAND!!  Still sounds weird :)

And I'm also in the process of changing my name but so far it's been smooth at work!  I'm a little worried about the other changes though - not so much SS Card and license but all of the cards and accounts that I have that will need to be changed as well.  Getting married is kind of a PITA :)

  • Sorry to hear that Shay! Thank god for the men in our lives who can bring us back 'down'. Mine regularly has to do that for me. He mellows me out when I start spiraling with worry. :-) Are there any online support groups for fertility? I know it can be a long battle, so having some people who understand in your corner may be a big help!

  • Shay - So sorry for you. T&P's for you and H.

Alo - I'm still working on changing 401k's and my car title. It.Never.Ends.
  • Aww, Shay, I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Good to hear how amazing and supportive your H is.

  • Thanks for the kind words, guys.  It really does help more than you know. =)

Ugh the dreaded name change.  I paid for a service to do the majority of it for me.  Seriously, it was the best $30 I ever spent.  It was such a PITA trying to get everything done.  The worst for my was actually my DL.  The person at the SS office told me to just hand them the paper stating that my new SS card was on the way and that was all I needed.  Well, when I got there this jackasss, rude, DB man informed me that he wasn't going to let me get my DL because I needed my actual card and that I should know that duh omg.  I freaking lost it.  I had been waiting for hours and I informed him right back that the rather pleasant lady at the SS office told me that all I needed to do was hand him that mothereffing paper and I would be good to go and there was no need for my actual card because THAT TAKES WEEKS TO COME IN THE MAIL.  I think I scared him a bit because he let me go back and get it lol. Jerk.

I think when I changed my name, I did SS, DMV, bank, and cable bill.  I don't have any subscriptions and we already had a joint account.  I *am* still under my maiden name at school, but I don't really care about that.

So lucky. I had DL, SS, 3 bank accounts, 2 401k's, 2 insurances, phone bill, Texas CPA's, 2 frequent flier accounts (you have to MAIL a marriage cert to change), 3 retail credit cards, car title, and probably more things I can't even think about.

    This is me :(

So much crap!  I was feeling good because I have my SS paperwork filled out and I got my new email addresses, but now I just feel like curling up and not doing anything!!

  • Swag - H and I love Breaking Bad! I haven't had any dreams about it though. But I have had nightmares after watching Dexter. To those who know the show, i had the Trinity Killer in my dreams - very scary.

Eddie - Even though taking a vacation throws me off a bit when I come back to the real world, I still take every single day I'm given, along with my sick/personal days. Actually time away from work helps me like my coworkers a little better when I return. Haha though only for a few days.
Oh, and that recipe sounds delicious. I want it now. Too bad H doesn't like mushrooms. I could leave them out, but darn it, sometimes I really want mushrooms!

Angel - Sorry about your tenants. H wanted me to consider buying an income property when were house hunting. While it has considerable income advantages, I didn't want to deal with being a landlord and everything that comes with it. So kudos to you! I hope they stay quite though.

It's been a rough week for me. I think the winter blues has set in and it's hard to pull myself out it. I'm looking forward to the weekend.

If this gives you hope- I have everything except my car title changed, which i'll change when I renew because it costs 45 to change it. :)

  • Though I STILL can't do anything at work because I have no access to anything!

  • The name change process slightly terrifies me. I have so much stuff and zero patience. I have work, benefits, two different retirement funds, NYS teachers association crap, two credit cards, car loan, mortgage/deed/title, two banks each with multiple accounts, whatever bills are in my name, and probably more I can't even think of. I'm not excited for it at all.

It's like things keep popping up! The frequent flier accounts are what got me. I had to write a letter and send photocopies. It's crazy.
  • I hate places that require things in writing. That would just tick me off. I think my biggest adjustment will be socialy for work. I'm in community education so I work with so many people and places that it might end up being a huge confusion. Hopefully it won't be too annoying.

I work for a large financial firm, so everything we do we have to be given access too, they haven't given my new name these access' yet :(

  • You guys are making me feel bad because I don't think I am going to change my name. I am worried about it affecting my career plus I would have to change 3 medical licenses 3 retirement accounts plus all the normal stuff and FI says he doesn't care. I probably will go by his name socially but I don't think I am going to change it legally. Shay you might want to wander over to the bump and ask for recs there.
    image
  • I'm not changing mine, TLC! You're not alone!

I've spent the last 7 years building a name for myself professionally and that's really important in my business. If anything I may legally hyphenate, so that when we have kids I have the same last name as them.

B2Z, That's terrifying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trinity scared the hell out of me, serious creeps! I almost stopped watching Dexter that season! Thank god he never ended up in my dreams.
