    I had my second dress fitting yesterday and I finally got to see what it looks like in (close to) my size! The seamstress took it in 3 or 4 sizes from the sample I bought. It still needs to come in about an inch on each side, but it was awesome to try it on at least close to the right shape/size/etc.

    Someone posted on here a few weeks ago about fainting during a dress fitting. Well, now you have company (sorta)! I was feeling pretty calm, not nervous or stressed at all, but my body had different ideas. All of a sudden, I turned stark white, started sweating, and thought I was going to throw up. I had to sit on the floor (in my dress!) for 5 minutes or so until it passed. So weird!

    OMG Bean- are you okay now? Its amazing what your body does with the stress that you don't even realize you are carrying!

    You are so close to the big day though! Awesome that your dress almost fits too!

    Oh and my vent... got a call from our venue yesterday that our wedding coordinator is leaving them as of TODAY. I wasn't thrilled with her anyways but still- now I have another thing to worry about as I will be getting someone new... I hope to God that I don't have to rehash thigns that were already discussed. Luckily I did most over email and I never delete that stuff but I did switch jobs so I hope none was on my old work email...

    awe, bean....were you just overwhelmed by the moment?

    I have a few....

    Twin nephews-to-be will be born at noon today!

    I pick up my dress today!

    We picked out wedding bands last night! It is way early but we had to be in the city for something else and Steven Singer is open late on Wednesdays so I wanted to pop in & have my ring cleaned. We figured hey while we are here, why not! They let me wear the band the whole time we were there and it felt weird not having it on when I left even though I had only worn it for a little bit.

    Aw Bean! I know - I don't even realize that I'm stressed but my body has been out of whack for sure and the wedding is a whole year away. So weird. Congrats on the dress!

    jenmac - what is your venue? I got an e-mail saying my coordinator left too! ahhh! We'll be assigned someone else but I hate that it's up in the air now.

    jelybean - such exciting times! enjoy the wedding goodies and new newphews:)

    We are starting our registry this weekend! I still haven't decided where all we're going to register or what to get. it should be fun though.

    AW: We moved into our new apartment and it is gorgous! We are so excited. Now we are heading back to Syracuse today to finish cleaning our old place and to pack up what didn't fit in our trailer into my car.

    Sunday FI graduates and becomes a real live Doctor. I am so proud of him. He has worked so hard.

    Monday FI finishes the packing and cleaning and I head down to PA with my parents to do all the last minute wedding stuff like the seating chart and escort cards.

    Bean - I hope you're ok!

    AW - see ticker, one week until SETTLEMENT! 

    Confession - this has been a really tough week/month for FI and I.  I'm really hoping it passes soon, as we are about to make a 30 yr commitment that is a mortgage.  Part of me is YAY for house and the other is scared for all the obvious reasons plus our rough patch...

    Spangler- its at Talamore Country Club. where is yours? I hate that its up in the air too. They said someone will be calling me next week or two to discuss our plans- if that doesn't go well, I am going to ask for one of the other coordinators that have been with Talamore for years. its just annoying!


    have fun registering! it took us hours to do it so I would recommend eating a nice big meal before you start!

    Spangler - are you worried about things being discontinued if you registry this early?  Or do you think your bridal shower etc will be sooner rather than later?

    Spangler - if you intend to register at Crate & Barrel do it when they have one of their registry events. They do them on Sunday mornings before the store opens. They have food & drink and the store is not crowded with randome people. It was fun! You have to call and sign up. But they give you a free vase too!

    I second this. We only registered a few months ago and we've had a few things discontinued. We have always been able to find some sort of replacement, but it's a bit of a pain. You may want to wait a bit. One thing we did that I though was really helpful was we started making a list of things we needed and didn't have. We kept it in the kitchen (where most of the things came from) and everytime we were cooking and though "I really wish I had a _____", we added it to the list. It made our actual registering really quick and productive.

    Thanks for the info! I thought it was entirely too early too but my FI's mom asks me everrrry single time I talk to her if I've registered yet and that I "really need to get on things" (ugh) so I basically decided we would to put an end to that conversation.

    I'm in no rush - maybe we should wait and just start with the list for now.

    jenmac - I know exactly how you're feeling. We booked Knowlton. They have a few other girls that do the same job there, but we're already experiencing difficulties. Our previous coordinator said that we would be the only venue that day, our new one is saying they may have an AM event so we can't come early for pictures. It's just annoying w/miscommunications.

    anne - yay! congrats to your FI!

    mana - house is a big commitment, but you can do it. good luck :)

    Spandler - explain to her you hear HORROR stories about doing it too early and discontinued products and bla bla bla... that should calm her down for a few months.  Like I said, unless she's wanting to hold a shower early, I say WAIT.

    The losing the wedding coordinator stinks. I've gone through 3 in the past 9 months. The first girl was a super awesome rockstar and I adored her. She was one of the reasons we decided on our venue. The second one was okay. She was nice and efficient. The one I have now is worthless - completely and totally. It sucks, but it happens a lot.

    Spangler--are you going to be having an engagement party? If you are (or maybe if FMIL is throwing you one and you have no idea...) then I would register, but make it very small. You can always go back and add to it.  Otherwise, wait a few months.

    I did my registry fairly early because I knew that at our 6-month mark, work was going to be INSANELY busy (which it was) and I wouldn't have any time.  And I've had to go in and pick out new things because it kept getting discontinued, specifically bedding. 

    Bean--that is so weird about the fainting!  Is your dress a corset back?  Maybe it was too tight?

    Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

    RA - It was really weird. No corset and it's still too big by quite a bit. I just had a physical freak-out, I guess.

    @Bean - This happened to me too! I passed out during my first dress fitting! I'm not sure what happened, but just like you said, I got really hot, started sweating, and then super dizzy. I was sitting in my underwear in the dressing room for like 10 minutes! Glad you're ok!

    Jenmac-  the same thing happened to us and the new coordinator was so much better.  Hopefully the same happens for you. 


    AW:  We leave for our honeymoon tomorrow.  I need to finish packing tonight.

    JBaby - I'm so happy it happened to someone else! (And I'm glad you're okay too!) My seamstress said it happens a lot - that and fainting.

    Mana, everything will be ok. :) I'm sorry you guys are going through a rough time, but enjoy the process of moving into the house and making it a home together!

    Jelybean, yay for getting your dress! We want pictures! And yay for twins! We want pictures of those too, hee hee :-P

    Amy, that's so exciting! Have so much fun!

    I would FREAK if the coordinator I'd been working with quit before my wedding date. That sucks. I really hope they get someone who is good at just jumping right in and able to get most of the details from the notes the previous coodinator saved.

    AW: I have not been to the gym in a week, but managed to lose a pound and a half. So apparently I'm eating right, heh. I can pull my pants off without unbuttoning them at this point. I guess I'll have to go shopping, oh darn.

    Also, we leave for London/Ireland in 2 1/2 weeks! SO booked the hotel room in London yesterday, and it looks awesome. I'm starting to get super excited! :-P

    Bean - I am the one who blacked out in my dress!!  (This was about 3 weeks ago). Make sure to eat and drink - I was told that I passed out part due to stress, and part due to dehydration.  I didn't pass out at the wedding, so I'm sure you'll be fine!

    Bean, that dress is beautiful.

    AW- I'm in scrubs that didn't fit me in december. Woot! I'm also down 28 lbs. I'm pretty effing proud. :) I'll Aw more when I come back from lunch. I have quite a few vents too...
