Non-Honeymoon

We're not going on a big extravegant honeymoon right away and I need suggestions or ideas for us to go for just a couple days after the wedding just to relax for a bit. Somewhere driving distance from York/Lancaster....NOT a corny Poconos resort though because I've already looked into those and they are just too corny for us. I'm not sure about B&B's either...maybe a cabin? or Atlantic City? or Washington DC? HELP!!!

My fiance and I planning to do DC after our elopement, but I think it really all depends on what you guys are looking to do, and how you define relaxing.

If you are like my fiance and I, you aren't going to want to just hang around a cabin, so going to place like DC gives options for things to do out and about with art and history and stuff. If you want to just sit in a cabin then do that. If you're into gambling and things then yeah do Atlantic City (though that'll be a little expensive and other than the casinos there isn't really much to do).

Also, think about how far you are willing to go in your time frame. Fiance and I have a week, another reason we're chosing DC. If you only have a day or two, a B&B a few towns a away might be better.

I know a resort in Northern New Jersey that's nice (Crystal Springs Resort), but again, it may or may not be in your distance-limit. Have you thought about maybe a resort in the Susquehanna Valley?

I guess you and your FI just need to decide what your looking for/to do/how far to travel etc and then just google up some stuff. Hope this helped, and good luck! :)

I highly recommend Cape May, NJ for honeymoons. It's such a beautiful town.  We always stay at the Jetty Motel which is right on the water. There are plenty of other hotels if you want something more upscale too. For the beach lover definitey, kind of old feel to this town, has shopping, some night life, and decent restaurants.
It's a very peaceful place. You can get as involved in things as you want or just be lazy. The buildings are very victorian and the whole town has this lazy laid back feel.

Baltimore is really close. Not the most pretty city but you can get a hotel right by the Inner Harbor. Good place if you are museum people. Spas in the city. Good places to eat. We stayed at the Renissance at Harborplace which is right across the street from the Inner harbor.
It is a little cheaper (you can find a cheaper hotel next to Inner Harbor too) than DC, NYC, and Atlantic City. Has a lot of nightlife, shopping, views of the bay.

I have also stayed in D.C. Good for museum and history people. The views are pretty and they do have options other than museums such as different kinds of gardens - Japanese garden is neat. Shopping, restaurants and night life.

Ditto what everyone else said. You should into Groupon, if you haven't already. I'm always getting emails about hotel deals. Lately, there's been a lot for hotels on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, so that might be something to look into!
