I just got engaged and am planning a May weddding. I live in Michigan and my fiance lives in NC. We are planning a beach wedding, very small affair (around 30 guests). I'm trying not to go over-the-top with the beach theme and would like to incorporate some pirate theme into the reception as my fiance loves pirates. I need some ideas that would be fun but still classy without turning our wedding into an 8-year old's birthday party.
And I have desperately been looking for a classic pirate figurine to use for a cake top. I am having a terrible time of finding a "pirate couple". I understand that many pirates did not necessarily have mates for life but seriously? Can't there be one classic looking figurine of a pirate and his lady?
