Destination Bachelorette

I am MOH and want to throw an awesome destination bachelorette party for the bride. She has said that she prefers to drive somewhere since all of the bridesmaids have kids and we want to be able to leave quickly if an emergency was to happen since it will be a weekend trip (and face it guys just aren't as good). We live in Indiana so I was thinking within 6 hours. We would love to be pampered by day and party at night. My budget is $2,000 and that is for gas, hotel, food and alcohol, pampering stuff and any admission to places/events for myself and the bride. I am going to ask for everyone else to pay for their own stuff and pitch in for the hotel room if they are staying with us. The guys are going to windsor, canada. Any ideas?

What part of Indiana are you from? The 6 hour radius will vary depending on where in Indiana you are.

I would say either Chicago or French Lick, depending on your location. In French Lick, there is the West Baden Springs Hotel or the French Lick Springs Hotel, both of which have a spa. In the surrounding area, there is a casino. http://www.frenchlick.com/

I would stay away from Chicago and Nashville because you will get more bang for your buck at a small resort somewhere else.

Maybe look at B&Bs in Nashville, Indiana, or on Lake Shafer. You might try Mackinaw Island in Michigan, too.

I would suggest doing a little bit of research with the Vistors Bureaus in surrounding states. They might be able to offer packages for the getaway you are looking for that come with discounts.

Let us know what you decide!

I would highly recommend 4th st Live in Louisville, KY.  It’s a really convenient concept; they have a lot of bars and restaurants arranged kind of like an outdoor mall, but they only check ID’s when you first enter so you don’t have to keep digging it out to show.  This is really nice when you have a large group. There tend to be a few bachelorette parties going on so some bars will have different competitions between the groups or the MOH’s or the brides.  I know that they have a Howl at the Moon (Piano Bar), Saddle Ridge, (a country western bar), and Ri Ra’s (a nice Irish Pub). We usually stay at the Galt house which is just two blocks away so it’s an easy walk.  It’s also really close to a bunch of nice restaurants. And Louisville is what, a little over 2 hours from Indy?
