Affordable Venues?

I'm just hoping you guys can give me a few idea's on affordable venues, preferably to have the ceremony and the reception in the same place.  We have a small budget but we both have really big families and though we are trying to keep the guest list as small as possible, we need to find a place where we get the most for our money.  Any suggestions?  We live in the Portland area but we're willing to travel a bit.

Can you tell us what your budget is?  "Affordable" and "small" can mean different things to different people!

Check out Seasons Event and Conference Center on Riverside in Portland.  I had my wedding there and it was a great experience.  Tracy, their event coordinator, is amazing to work with.

Well, it's not really small, we both have big families, we're looking at 120-150 people.  We would love to cut that down but it's really hard with the amount of close family members that we have.  As far as money goes, I'm not really sure.  Right now we are looking at a couple of places that have alot included (the venue, ceremony, linens, clothes, wedding cake and some decorations) that are 10,000 and we would like to try to find something less than that that is still nice.

I will check out Seasons, thanks!

I had 85ish for my wedding, sit-down dinner, $500 worth of alcohol, cocktail hour apps, and linens for around $4000 at Seasons, and that includes their event coordinator's services who gets everything set up for you.

Poland Spring Resort in Poland Maine.  I am getting married there in October.  You can have 1-200 Guests for the same price.  Catering is included as well as a D.J. if you want to use their D.J. and you get a 100 dollar flower credit.  They also supply vases and the china if you wish.  You can choose to have the ceremony at the gazebo on site, over looking the golf course or in the on site church which is beautiful.  If you choose the gazebo the church is saved for a back up in case of poor weather.  The reception is just a couple steps away from the ceremony, and there is plenty of parking.  Two nights at their hotel is also included, the night before the wedding and the night of.  Cyndi is the one that runs it andd is wonderful to work with.  For the rehersal, there are 3 options close by for the dinner and Cyndi will help with that too.  Here is their website.... we are very glad we chose Poland Spring   http://www.polandspringinns.com/weddings.html
