I'm bored, and I miss weddings so here we go.

If you had to get married again, what dress would you pick now? You can change the season of your wedding/location to fit with the dress you like. I'm bored at work on break and looking at wedding gowns.

I wanted this Anne Barge Black Label dress so badly--I never saw it in person, but I hunted for it everywhere. Retail price is like $8k--the entire dress is covered in beading done by hand. I loved my dress, but it's probably a good thing I never saw this in person--I would have wanted it no matter what the cost.

This Watters (Harmony) dress is the one I really wanted. But I couldn't find anywhere that had it to try on

And although I could never afford it, I love this Watters (Sterling) also

And again, another I couldn't afford, Watters (Dallas)

I had such a hard time finding dresses that weren't strapless. If I were to do it again, I'd look harder

I would do a DW, on a beach somewhere and wear a comfortable but more fitted dress. I was afraid to wear something really fitted because I have curves and I didn't think it was appropriate for a traditional wedding at our venue.

Ooh I love this question and have thought about it before.

I don't get my dress for a few weeks and I haven't seen it since September, but I do actually think it is the perfect dress for me and I don't think I would do a different one for my venue/season.

But.. I think it would be fun to do some kind of more casual, whimsical wedding where I could wear a short dress. I wanted to post a dress I've always really liked (I think it's Melissa Sweet) but I can't find it.

I also love the look of winter weddings and would do the same cape as BP. I would wear a similar dress to mine (strapless lace) but get something with a little bit of beading.

Then there are dresses I love but don't have the body for (booblets). Specifically, this Jim Hjelm.

Oooh this is a good one! although I adored my dress, I'd get something that was wayyy out of budget... It would probably be the same general style, but with much more detail... Here's one I found, for example

Rachel - That Jim Hjelm dress is exactly what my MOH wanted for her wedding (she had pics for us to "study"). She got something really close to it at the Running of the Brides event at Filene's Basement in DC.

Ohhhh, there was this one dress that I loved -- I pulled it from a magazine early on and never even tried to find it in person b/c it wouldn't have worked for my body type. I'll look at home and see if it's still stuck in my binder!

If I could do it over, I wish I had gotten a ball gown -- or at least a fuller skirt! I know it would have been really hot for July, but I always wanted a full skirt for my wedding dress!

I wish full skirts looked good on me. I wanted a lace ballgown, or some type of ballgown..... but I just felt like I was going to prom :-(

And there was this, too. I tried on one one, but it was satin (!), so it didn't feel like prom but it did feel like 50 pounds!

Cait - I'm 5'3 and usually 118, so basically the same as you. I put on ballgowns, and just felt blah in them... fitted dresses just looked better on me. HOWEVer everyone is different. Try on what you like and see how you feel!

I'm about the same size as you, Cait... but I have hips, so I look best in things that are really fitted. Although, my mom LOVED one Maggie dress that I tried on. I was calling it the Grecian dress. Let me see if I can find it.

:-) I thought I wanted ballgown and NO LACE, and wound up with a form fitting all lace gown. you just never know what you will like ON you.

Baby is doing really well, I don't want to wait another 3 weeks for my next U/S :-(

BP- too funny... ugh 3 weeks seems so far away... I am glad baby is doing well. I guess at about 12 weeks I should stop calling it names of fruits huh?

RA- pretty dress, what did you end up going with?

I know I want something people wont expect, and as long as I am happy in it and I think people will go wow thats all that matters :-)

The dress I got is Private Collection, and they don't advertise or have any of their dresses on the internet, but I did get a picture of my dress in the store. I didn't want a strapless dress, or one with a ton of beading. LOL.

Am I the only one who would just wear my dress again? I loved it so, so much. The funniest thing is that months and months after ordering it while we were doing some spring cleaning I found a few bridal magazines I had been given when we first got engaged in whcih I had dog-eared some dresses to get an idea of what things I liked. Lo and behold, my exact dress is one I ahd dog-eared. Casablnca 1900.

I liked my dress a lot. THere are others that I also liked a lot, and i wish I could have worn like 10 on my day.
