Good Morning!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  What are you up to?

I'm sad I missed an excellent Halloween/zombie apocalypse thread last night.  Just yesterday, I asked FI if he thought we would be safe from a zombie attack in our 2nd floor apartment.  It went something like this:

Me: They'd probably eat NeighborDownstairs first right?  They couldn't climb up the side of the building right?  I think we should barricade the door with the recliner.

FI: Umm, the door swings out. (i"m foiled again!) If someone really wanted to get in here, they could.

Me: WHAT?!?

FI: With an axe, a chainsaw, a battering ram....

And he KEPT going.  I was terrified.  Plus we saw Devil last night.

What do you guys have planned for today?

We have decided is a boat is the preferred method of escape. However, we do not own a boat of any kind, nor do we have anywhere to store one. Its on our list of things to save for.

I'm still home alone. My butt hurts from sitting on the couch all day yesterday, so I guess I need to find something else to do today. I'll probably go to the grocery store soon to get there before church gets out and it gets crazy in there.

FI asked me why I was so worried about zombies.  I told him that in the four years he has known me, he should have realized that I'm totally afraid of various supernatural/natural takeover scenarios.  He realized this is true.  Besides, he was afraid of Devil, so he has nothing to complain about.

After seeing The Crazies, we went on to the emergency preparedness website from the government and have started gathering water, etc.  We are those people.

The grocery store after church sucks!  I can't even deal.  I'd rather go at midnight by myself than deal with other people.

Good morning, ladies!  I'm making an apple pancake casserole and bacon before we go out on our 4 hour hike with friends.  It's a beautiful fall day here.

    Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

Morning! I had my first wedding shower yesterday afternoon, which was a ton of fun.  It was so nice to see everyone.  It was mostly my mom's friends, who I haven't seen in a few years.  We had great food and conversation :)

Today I need to just get going with the morning. I have a 3 hour drive back home to Minnesota ahead of me.

Morning ladies. It's only 8a.m. here. I'm running off of very little sleep.

I went out with friends last night, and I damn near got in a fight. With a dude. I haven't been in a fight since I was 5, and luckily his friends got him under control. It kind of ruined my night, and I'm still pretty pissed.

That being said, I am skipping church today. I have no plan to get out of my pjs.

Yay Steph! That's so much fun!  How many showers do you have?

    LesPaul--that breakfast sounds amazing!

I'm just pretending to finish some homework.  I actually have to finish soon since we're heading over to my friends house for Sunday football :(

99th birthday? That is so cool. I bet he has some amazing stories.

The dude started by coming to our table and making a racial slur. I made it clear he needed to leave. He came back over when we were standing up and grabbed us both by the waist.
Then my girlfriend and I went outside because my H was coming to pick us up. Dude comes back and grabs us again and I shove him and tell him to keep his fuucking hands off of us, and went off on him.
He told me I wasn't intimidating. I said I realized that, but I was willing to break my hand trying to break his nose.

99? That's awesome--he's seen so much happen and change!

Umm, Jas?  You seem pretty intimidating to me.  If I were him, I would totally have backed the eff off.

    That's ridiculous, Jas!  I love how you're a badass.

We're picking up our chaise today.  I just really wish someone we know owned a pickup who liked us enough to let us borrow it.  Stupid UHAUL and it's million dollar costs.

Ha, thanks! I also look like I'm about 12, which doesn't usually work in my favor.

Are you grading homework Nates? Because we already figured out how to get that done quick. ;)

NS- We got a truck this summer. It was a bit pricey, but it's so nice to have for stuff like that.

Omg Jas, that's ridiculous!  I think I would've punched him for good measure...ha!

    I'm here, working...but here!

Working on the weekend is no fun. No fun at all.

Ugh, I wish it were just grading homework.  No, I'm doing an assignment for one of my classes.  It doesn't help that the class is Statistical Research Methods :(
  • Options
I've kind of gotten used to it (except when people want me to go out Sat. nights :p)  But I get Friday and Saturday off...so it's a little bit of a consolation.

    Good morning ladies!

Low-key day today for us.  Laundry, grocery shopiing and maybe (if I'm motivated) I'll make some pumpkin cookies.
  • Options
Nates, that doesn't sound like much fun. I had to take Research and Applied Statistics. If they are at all similar, then ouch.

Future, so you get to start your weekend early! That's not so bad. What do you do?

Asst. Mngr of a convenience store....so we basically have all kinds of hours.

Kick ass, Jas. You should have punched him anyway. I also look about 12, so it's hard getting people to believe me when I make an attempt to defend myself.

As for zombies, we're escaping by boat. We don't have a boat, so we plan to steal one. H is great on the water, so he'll catch fish and find a deserted island and we'll survive until the zombies are gone.

I have very little on the agenda for today. I have to get gas and go grocery shopping. Then I plan on reading Catching Fire. Whoever suggested The Hunger Games was right, the books are freakin amazing. Tonight I'm making meatballs and am a little nervous. Of all the things I can cook, homemade meatballs has always scared me because I'm afraid I'll suck at it.

But, one of our neighbors and H's customer offered to let us have a picnic on their dock tonight, which goes way out into the river, at sunset. H has been over there almost every day getting the yard ready for this huge political party they're having and the couple felt bad that they've been taking up so much of his time.

Oh, I think I knew that Future. At least you're not doing the night shift. I don't know how people can manage to stay  up all night.

Anna- I had to fight the temptation to buy pumpkins at the store yesterday. I don't bake, but they are so festive I just want to put them all over the house.

Sesh- That sounds very romantic. :) I add a little onion soup mix to my meatballs for flavor. Or I mix beef and italian sausage.

H and I thought that a Sam's Club or other large store would be a good place to hold out in a zombie apocalypse. It is all concrete, and has bulk food, clothing, everything you'd need. We'd just have two doors to barricade. We'd sleep on one of the kid's tall playhouses, just in case.
We've thought about this too much.

These are turkey meatballs, so I don't know how much an onion soup mix would change the flavor. But since it's the first time I'm making them I'll stick to the recipe, just in case.

I never thought about Sam's. We have a BJ's here (same thing), and that would certainly be an awesome place to hide out. All that bulk candy, chips, peanut butter. I think I'd gain 50 pounds and wouldn't be able to run during an attack.

Like PP said though, movies like The Crazies scare me the most. Peoplewho aren't really zombies, but your best friends and neighbors turned into infected crazies.

    Good Morning Ladies.

Jas- when my girlfriend and I used to go out years ago, everyone thought I'd be the one to kick your a$$, but we'd psych them out because my GF was the one to rip your eyes out.

NS- We have 2 trucks you can borrow!

DH has to be at the airport today , so I look forward to another weeks alone. Today I think I'll go to DSW, and boot shop.

The Crazies was really scary. I think you have to be invested in the characters for a horror movie to work, which is why slasher flicks don't scare me at all. After The Crazies, I wanted to lock all my doors and cry. haha

KD, that's so funny. Looks are really deceiving. My H a has a shaved head and a ton of tattoos, and looks pretty intimidating imo. But he is the most laid back, non-confrontational guy I know.

I know!  H has informed me that buying pumpkins, especially for jack-o-lantern purposes, is forbidden until 2 weeks before halloween.

Good morning! The dogs let me sleep until 8:20 this morning. 8:20!! This hasn't happened in over a year. I've got cookies to decorate for a for-profit order today and I might make some banana cupcakes. We may meet up with the ILs for lunch (meh). It's all up in the air, pretty much.

I can't.  Letting him have little victories like this will allow me victories like the one where we were the first people in town with a live christmas tree last year.  :)  November 16th

Morning! I'm attempting to get dumbass 16 year old boys out of my house, because they're STILL here from last night. Nothing like having one of your friends get a call while you're out at the bar telling you there's a party at your house. My younger brother is going to have a wonderful day cleaning the house.

On another note, I lost 13 bucks at the race track yesterday. Horse racing is also really anti-climatic. On the plus side, I did turn 5 bucks into 15 at the slots =D Yeah, my best friend thinks she's going to win a lot of money someday, always buys lottery tickets, etc, so she decided we were all going to the casino. But, I bet 2 bucks on a horse named Taco, and damn right, second place with 13 to 1 odds. Woot. Can't go wrong with Tacos.

I'll probably spend the rest of today watching the Big Bang Theory. It's my only day off this week, so I'm just going to relax.

Cut off their food supply.  They won't stay long.  16 year old boys get hungry.  a lot.
