Day of Coordinator

Are you using a day of coordinator? I'm reeeeally considering hiring one, but I have no idea how expensive they can be. Any idea how much I could end up spending for someone to help me the day of the wedding?

Any suggestions on who's good and who's not?

    We are using one (Elite Events) and I'm so glad we chose to!  I cannot recommend her enough.   PM me if you want more details :)

    I asked a simple question in email, about how they charged.  And they responded, "please call us." instead of answering the question.  On the phone, they seemed pretty pushy to me.  Insisting I meet with them in person.  I agreed to a meeting, and she said she'd send me a contract to fill out and mail back if I decided to hire them.  I got their contract, and I was not happy.

    They charged per hour, but their minimum deposit fee was more than what I wanted to spend all together.  They also charged for every single phone call and meeting from the first day we spoke.  So she talked to me for an hour on the phone trying to sell me her product, and then wanted to charge me for that.  I wasn't very happy.

    After that, I decided to nix the entire idea of a Day of Coordinator.

    My church and hall both come with one and I'm very glad. The different things they've said they would do is AWESOME!

    They tried to charge you for a phone call when you were inquiring about their services?!  HAHA!  That's so ridiculous.  I would have sent them monopoly money.

    They were GOING to charge me if I agreed to hire them.  Their contract stated 'any correspondence -- phone calls, emails, etc -- starting from August 12th' which was the day they called me and tried to tell me about their service.  Ridiculous!

    I agree with Luella25, I am also using April at Your Perfect Day.  Her cost is half of what the other coordinators charge & she is so personable!   I have 2 other friends that used her and the LOVED her!   She is not pushy & takes care of everything 3 weeks prior to your wedding date.  What a relief cause I need a break before my wedding day.
