Guest book?

Just curious if guest books are common at wedding receptions in the NYC area?

We had one and I've seen them many times at receptions.

Not sure I've ever been to a wedding without one.

Thanks. My FI looked at me like crazy when I mentioned that we needed to get one. Apparently he just doesn't sign them when he goes to weddings.

i've been to tons of weddings in NYC area and have never seen one, so if they're there, they've been hiding!

I've never been to a wedding that didn't have one - now whether it was in a great place for signing is another matter. It's not a mandatory thing, unless you want something to look back on years from now.  In the grand scheme of things, it's the least costly thing so just get one.

I've also never been to a wedding without one.  You don't need to have the kind where everyone just lists their names, you can make it a photobook, a picture where people sign the mat, a "wish" bowl, etc.  For me the point was to have a little personal message from people who attended our ceremony.
