Music!

This question was kind of asked below. I was wondering if you could share all the music you used for different parts of the ceremony (processional, communion, recessional, etc.)

I need some inspiration as i want to talk to the music director soon. Thanks in advance!

In my bio on "Wedding Mass" page!  Our parish has a list of different songs to choose from for prelude, processional, recessional and postlude which I also link to on my bio as it is in our wedding policy "packet."  The sweet thing is they even have a page where you can listen to mp3's of the songs!  Hopefully they'll permit the preludes and postludes that we chose even if they're not on the official list... I played them back in my violin and chamber orchestra days in high school, so really wanted to have them at the wedding!

@Riss91... pretty sure I may shamelessly steal some of your music :)

That's really sweet! Both of us have studied music and play various instruments so it was important to us to pick great music that we loved.

We are really blessed to have amazing professional singers at our home parish that were able to perform for our wedding. Our choir director/organist studied at Yale and has traveled the world going through old church attics and finding music scores from hundreds of years ago that have been untouched and unplayed. He also has found some great rare pieces in the Yale library. He spends time transposing them and archiving them and it's always beautifully done. We hardly ever hear the same songs at mass twice. Recently, the children's schola under his direction was invited to sing for 3 masses (and the Pope!) in Madrid for World Youth Day this summer. And he is the most humble, selfless and unassuming person you'll ever meet. Such a blessing.
