Um... anna? Or anyone who bakes.

So funfetti cake won out.  How long does it take to cool?  Can I stick it in the fridge to cool?  I WANT TO FROST IT.

Patience is not one of my strong suits.

Don't cakes usually take 20 minutes or so? I don't do cakes, but I will stick cupcakes in the fridge for a few minutes to cool them off. but not for too long, otherwise they get a little dried out.

Ooo Funfetti is always a good choice. I wanted a funfetti wedding cake, but my Mom said that was silly. :(

What are you making? Are you sending me some?
  • Options
I usually don't wait...I just cut the warm cake into squares and frost them as I eat them.

katie, I just felt like cake this afternoon so I made one, lol.

It's been out of the oven for 20 minutes but its still pretty warm.

Did you take it out of the pan yet? That will help cool it down faster.

...I have to take it out of the pan!?

Oooh I like cutting it into squares. I might make some GF brownies tomorrow. I had half of a regular cookie today and feel like crap.

You can TECHNICALLY frost it as soon as it's not hot. But the frosting won't set, and it will be all goopy. I would wait a little longer.

I am just itching to eat a piece.

I think it tastes best when it's really, really cold.  I love really cold funfett cake with cream cheese frosting.

It will make an awesome breakfast.

I always take cakes out of the pan. it's easier to cut and frost that way. I like my frosting all around the sides.
  • Options
Lol I guess I don't have anywhere to put the cake if it's not in the pan.

I am pretty pathetic when it comes to kitchen things.  I hope I get a ton of kitchen shiit for the wedding.

Speaking of breakfast I just made an Eggo waffle. I put peanut butter on it, and it made me think of you all your PB talk all the time.

I want funfetti. How long does it take to get up there from the cities? ;)

Four hours isn't very much time... but when cake is involved, well.  Let's just say it won't survive long.  I can MOW.

Usually you take cakes out of the pan a few minutes after you take them out of the oven and put them on a cooling rack.  They cool down a lot faster when out of the pan :)  Also it stops them from further cooking in the pan and getting dried out.  If you don't have a cooling rack, just put it on the plate you plan to frost in on and give it a few more minutes to cool.

I wonder if you can have them shipped them to the U.S?  Those were SO good!
