Reception vases fillers!

alright ladies, i am putting vases with candles on all of my tables at the recpetion.  some tables will have hurricane vases and some will have short, square vases.  i need some filler ideas.  i really wanted to get some sand but it comes out to be over $500 just to do the tall vases.  any cheap ideas you can come up with?  my wedding colors are black, white, and teal (david's bridal--pool).  please help!!

try and ebay or dollar stores for bags of stones.   There is place down here that sells them for $10 a bag.   Which is cheap for down here, so in the states I'm sure you can get them for a whole lot less.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

I'm not sure it will work with candles, but the jelly balls that florists use to keep flowers alive are fairly cheap, and I just saw some at the dollar store (clear only). If you want some inexpensively, with colors, try here:

These might work with candles if you put another glass candle holder inside the jelly balls. Not sure how you are arranging this.

You could also use stones, similar to the ones that are used for fish tanks

    Good luck.
