Ekath - I feel like we barely ever really come into contact with each other on the boards, but you're (not so secretely anymore) one of my faves. You're funny and nice, and you stay out of the drama and get along with basically everyone. I truly admire that. Although your pic freaks me out.

1. It's the beginning of the weekend!

2. This weekend I'll be getting my last bit of relaxation in before school starts back up again. Oh, and I have about six hours worth of homework to look forward to. I bet you're all jealous.

3. Go out and splurge on a mani/pedi. It ALWAYS helps.

4. I couldn't help you here...I'm the worst cook EVER.

5. I will send out my love to Bren today. Bren, even though we don't always see eye to eye on things, you are a smart, classy, graceful, beautiful (inside and out) woman and I'm glad to know you. You stick up for what you believe in and I'm a very big advocate of that. You also never pick on anyone and can disagree with others with class and integrity.

I don't know. Ever since I've been unemployed it's just another damn day for me.

2) Big plans this weekend?
Girly night with a bunch of friends I haven't seen in awhile on Sunday. We used to have monthly fondue parties and they kind of tapered off a year ago. We miss them so we decided to go on the razzle before school starts up again for the still-in-college girls.

3) Fav. Friday relaxation tips?

A glass of wine and fuzzy socks. Turn your phone on silent.

4) Tips on cooking this delicious steak that I got (ON HELLA SALE)? Ima surprise FBD since he has to work late.

There's a grill marinade I've been dying to try, called the Booze Hound:
2 c heavy red wine (merlot or cabernet)
3 cloves of crushed garlic
2 tbsp chopped fresh thyme or rosemary
1 tsp black pepper

Fun fact: if you marinate your meat, it cuts the carcinogen deposits in grilled foods by 88%

Some friends of ours are getting married in Atlanta, so we're headed there for that. While we're up there we're going to do belated Christmas with the godchildren. I'm more excited for that than I am the wedding. By FAR.

I still have four puppies sleeping around me while I watch TV and wait for DH to call and say he's coming home for lunch. This afternoon my relaxation will be dusting and vacuuming. Yea...I don't think it's very relaxing either, but it's what's on my schedule!

I suck at cooking steak. DH usually handles all the grilling, I cook everything else. Sorry!

Season the steak and sear it on both sides in a REALLY hot pan. Once you have a nice sear on both sides put a little pad of better on it and stick it in a 400 degree oven until it is the temp that you like.

I'm a fan of simple is best... so a marinade of garlic teriyaki sauce or salt and paper and broil that meat to a tender medium rare.

LOL. Thanks for the shout-out, bside! I do try to put out positive energy. Heh, I feel like I help balance out some of the negative energy that happens around here sometimes. I'm really not just a goofy ball of sunshine all the time, though. I'm a normal hoomin and all that. Actually, I can get really negative about things in my life sometimes, which drives BF nuts. But in terms of relating to people, I do try to be congenial! I just don't think it helps much to do otherwise, ya know?

I feel that I have more time in the day than any other. I get up at a normal (early) time, get off work a little early, and can stay up late cause I get to sleep in the next day.

Not really. My step-mom suggested I meet her half way and go shopping, but I haven't really been in a shopping mood the past couple of months.

3) Fav. Friday relaxation tips?
Snuggling up on the couch to a redbox movie.

He's so cute - he's already bought healthy snacks for us to take into the park with us (so we don't have to pay for overpriced junk food). AND he's bending his diet for the trip! Still no carbs for him, but he's going to eat cheese and not worry so much about the particulars - just no grains. I can live with that!!!

He's also booked our hotel, and is now trying to hook up my new iPad that I got for Christmas (which is still sitting in his box), so he can download Season 3 of Dexter so I can watch it on the drive up tomorrow since it just came in from Netflix and I was looking forward to watching it this weekend.

He's getting major brownie points for this trip! I'm on cloud 9!!!! He rarely splurges.

And I do KNOW this isn't a proposal - the diamond is still in my drawer.
