Large Bridesmaid Dresses

I really need help.  I can't find any bridesmaids dresses for my girls.  Most of them would be easy, but one girl has a 72.5 inch hip, just to give you an idea of how big we are talking.  I can't find anyone who makes a dress that big.  Help please!

    Where do they shop normally?  Could they get dresses from there?  Or maybe purchase material and have dresses made by a seamstress.  Here are some sites that have dresses that might be in their sizes:

    They don't do much shopping.  They are very much t-shirt and stretchy jeans kind of people.  Mostly because they can't find clothes that fit.  I even looked at the Lane Bryant line and we would have to add an extra foot of fabric around the hips to make it work.

     You will definitely find it difficult to find dresses in her size. I took a quick look online, and the only website I found was, http://www.curvaliciousclothes.com/xcart/pages.php?pageid=7  It has a sizing chart, and their dresses are up to a 72inch waist. Again, I didn't look extensively into websites, but this was just one I came across. They do have a few nice dresses on there though!

     You may find it cheaper to purchase fabric, and have a dress made in her size. I do think it would be easier, in your situation, to just pick a colour, and have the girls choose whatever dress they want. That way, all she has to worry about is getting the fabric in your colour choice, and having someone make a dress that's flattering to her, in her size. That's the route I would likely go!

    For the sake of all bridesmaids, I would pick an easy color and let them choose their own dress. This means they won't match, but it's very common these days and everyone will thank you for it. I used navy and it worked out amazingly.

    I think that's what we are going to do.  Thank you for your input!

    @mmcgee2

    I gave my girls a color and said that it had to be 1 or 2 inches above or below the knee and let them pick the dress they wanted and they liked. They have their dresses and even though they are not the same, they all look amazing together

    Most Jordon Fashions BM gowns go up to size 34. They are who I went with because my girls range from size 4 to 32.  (I am not sure what size the hips fit in)

    Sounds like you need to find a local seamstress to create a dress.  If the lines are simple, it shouldn't cost that much.  Ask the alterations manager at your local dry cleaner's for references.
