Offboards

Forgive me if this is a silly topic. I need some distraction after this tough day.

I hear from time to time about "offboards". Not just from Snarky but starting up from various TK boards.

How common are they? Are lots of people in them? Is everyone but me? Maybe I should start an "Oldboard" :)

Or, is the first rule of offboards is no one talks about offboards? Tongue out

    I talk to several knotties on facebook and by email and a few by phone, but no offboard for me.

    Offboards are fairly common.  I've been a member of three since being on the knot.  One imploded in a blaze of glory, one I quit and the other one I'm still on.   I think its natural when you make friends here to want to have a place you can talk a little more openly about things with more privacy.  

    They tend to be somewhat secretive.  This made a more sense back in the days of serious group wars, board wars and general drama on TK I guess, but I don't really see the point of being all "don't talk about the offboards!!" now that that sort of thing has fallen by the wayside.  I think there is also an element of not discussing them so other knotties don't feel left out. 

    Really, the hype around them is far more interesting then their actual existence.

    Eh, I think sometimes people hear us talking about "other boards" and think off boards. I'm part of a weight loss board and so are a couple other knotties, so sometimes I'll be like "Oh well on the X board".

    Just FB and SparkPeople for me. I can't keep up with more forums lol.

    I've been semi lurking for a few days, but I was straight up missing for a little over a week.  When Scott came home I gave him a mini lecture about coming home from Africa and immediately jumping on FB so I couldn't really be all over the knot.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />
