Undecided on Honeymoon Destination Need IDEAS NOW :)

Hi Everyone,

I am kind of undecided on our honeymoon destination we definitely want tropical and I am even kind of debating between Aruba or Bahamas or even Turks & Caicos (as that is where he proposed). However, we want to go to an all inclusive adults only resort but we don't want to be bored at night and it would be nice to be of walking distance of like a "downtown area".

Currently thinking about the Atlantis in the Bahamas but I am kind of on the fence as I know this is more of a family/kids place but would be nice since they have a casino and other things to do on the property. Anyone stay at the Cove Atlantis?

thanks

I was going to suggest the Cove before you finished that paragraph. It's very swank, adults-only, and I know the beach/club/bar area is highly rated. I've never been but I've written about it. Another option, if you're into the Bahamas, is the Out Islands (Eleuthera, Exuma, Abaco, Bimini, etc.) They tend to be very, very laid-back and geared toward adults.

I haven't been to the Caribbean but I do know that Atlantis is not an all inclusive resort.  They have meal plans you can purchase but they are not an AI.

Breathless Punta Cana is adults only and has a casino and some clubs. Or you can look into Hard Rock properties that have adults only areas.

I would say no on Atlantis in Bahamas. We stayed at Sandals which was all inclusive. Atlantis is not and you have to pay for everything. We went and just checked out the resort and saw a lot of people walking back towards the resort with gallons of water etc, because it's cheaper than at the resort. Also if you don't mind kids on your honeymoon then that might work for you.

We didnt want to deal with screaming children, or having to pay every time we wanted a drink so we went all inclusive at an adult only. I would highly recommend Sandals Royal Bahamian.

We stayed at Bucuti Beach Resort in Aruba and absolutely loved every minute of it. It is NOT all inclusive but we didnt have a problem with that.  Just personal preference. Bucuti is on the more romantic, secluded, spread out part of the island. Just a short cab ride into town for a better selection of shopping, dining and nightlife. Good luck!

Check out Secrets resorts. They are adults only, very nice and have multiple locations in the Caribbean. We stayed at the one in Jamaica and loved it. The resort has a club on premises, which is nice and a piano lounge with jazz music if you want something more relaxing at night. They also had some adult games at night. We've also been to Secrets in Cancun but it's more low key and the resort dies down at around 10 pm. We went to Coco Bongo one night which was a ton of fun. Other than that the resort is smallish and doesn't have much of a nightlife.

I'll have to keep an eye on this discussion because the destinations you've mentioned are the ones my fiancé and I have been considering too! I would def recommend punta Cana for an all inclusive, the only reason we aren't going to honeymoon there is because we want to go somewhere we haven't visited yet. We stayed at the riu palace Macao in punta Cana, it was all inclusive and a 5 star resort (even though the travel sites say 4 we got there and it was actually a 5) everyone was super friendly it was adults only, food was great and you are right on the beach! Really pretty and romantic for a honeymoon!
