  He didn't publicly take his mother's side.  That was a discussion with me.  I didn't realize that I had said that he said it publicly.  He didn't completely understand what was going on.  That was a simple misunderstanding.  He is very involved with the wedding planning and it will end up being a complete mixture of our two personalities. 
  
  Also, we are not taking any money from anyone in either of our families.  We are paying for the wedding 100% on our own.  We have told his mother this on several occasions.
