Monday!

How was the weekend?

Mine kinda sucked because I worked and I was in pain all.weekend.long.  I finally went and got checked out and I have a staph infection on my skin.  I feel so gross and now I'm on all the drugs to clear it up (plus probiotics to keep my stomach in check).  I tried to tough it out, but the pain was making me nauseated and teary eyed by late yesterday afternoon.  IDK why after 2 days of getting worse that I thought it would get better.  Ugh.   It still hurts, but I'm hoping by tomorrow I'll see improvement.

I was going to wrap presents and bake cookies.  Neither of those things happened.  However, I am on the second to last episode of The Crown and it is sooo... good.

Can they give you anything for the pain @mrsconn23? I heard the second season of the Crown is amazing. I'm saving it until I'm done grading. Although I did start The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and it's hilarious.

Weekend was fine; I pretty much worked and walked the dog.

BUT, last night we got an offer on the house. Kind of out of the blue and after negotiating we settled on $2000 less than asking with us covering some of the closing costs. We should actually come out ahead after paying the mortage. Fingers crossed this one actually sticks.

They gave me an anti-inflammatory for the pain and swelling.  But if I move wrong, it's enough to make me gasp.

I do want to see the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.  It looks really funny.  It just got nominated for a Golden Globe.

The Crown has surpassed season 1.  Also, it's eerie how some of what's going on in the show's timeframe mirrors things going on today. ;)

M has been had a cold all weekend. He's on dayquil but it only works for a bit and I think it's slowly not working as well.

Friday - went to mall to pick up a few things. Found out they only sell the concealer I like online now :( {Urban Decay 24/7 concealer pencil - super thick but still really smooth} So I'm trying out some IT Cosmetics concealer they had as a set with under eye cream.
Also picked up 2 candles from B&BW  - Flannel and Peach Bellini.
Our mall has a new pretzel place, so I tried one of the hot dog ones. I was impressed! Usually the hot dog is greasy or the dough is greasy. Nope. Seemed pretty fresh also.

Saturday - woke up then took a nap 2hrs later. I've been waking up with headaches from my sinuses lately. Water and extra sleep seems to help.
Our realtor had a wine + cheese party, so we went for a bit.
The intention was to get the impact gun afterwards {M still hasn't done tires ...} but he was starting to feel crummy. So basically we both went home and took a nap :')
Our friends had xmas party that night. We stayed later than I expected we would but it was fun :)
One of them got a sweater that's basically a velcro dart board. That was fun for awhile.
Trying to get our group shot is hard lol The bump was showing, so there's a good shot of M and I lol!

Sunday - intended on doing plugs but M just felt awful, so I did some cleaning and we watched movies in the evening.
We really gotta do those plugs. We're gonna get a rebate for doing it and we're on a timeline :( Procrastinator and now sick .... joy lol

M and I also talked about doing stuff for the kitchen command center. I needed his help because of layout. We have a stupid phone jack in the middle of the wall to also work around.
M has a few ideas on what to do with that, but that'll be a few weeks until we get that done since he has to finish the work bench first. We're using scrap wood from that.

    Tonight's plan is:
    - stop at dollarama
    - make apple crisp before apples go bad
    - see if M needs help with plugs
    - make lunches
    - continue clearing table {WE HAVE A CORNER AND BITS OF SPACE IN MIDDLE!}
    - possibly wrap presents, or see what we have vs what we need

MrsConn - I hope the drugs start to give you better relief!

Charlotte - Fingers crossed this one goes through!  Hopefully these sellers are much easier than your last one!  And a better offer! Yay!

6 - Greasy pizza fingers just as you are walking out the door!  KIDS!

Our weekend was good.  Friday we went out to dinner.  DD tried pulled pork and hush puppies!  Saturday was yoga in the morning, fish breading in the afternoon, church and then dinner.  While my aunts, my mom, and I worked on the fish, H went through more of his crap from the basement.  He also got the Wii hooked up for the first time since he moved in with me 6 years ago!  We just did not have the space to play it in the old house, with the layout.

Sunday we slept in as much as DD would let us.  We got our Christmas card picture done!  It was the first one we took!  DD nailed it with a big smile and able to read her onesie that said "You serious Clark?" on it.  I ordered right away using my Staples groupon.  I pick them up at lunch today.  Then I sold some excess Kitchen Aid attachments that retail for $100+, for $50.  I actually had someone on one of the pages offer $30.  GTFO with that lady.  But not long after, I had a full price offer and we met immediately!  Then we went to my friends house to watch the Eagles game.  It was neck and neck, but we pulled out the win!  Though we lost our QB for the season :(  Wentz was a driving force on our team.  I hope we can keep up the momentum without him.

Not too much this week.  We need to finish decorating our house.  There are only a few tubs of Christmas stuff to go, but we need to finish.

oooo I didn't know the second season was out. Yay!

Sorry about your pain and infection @mrsconn23 - that really sucks. It's super contagious right?

This weekend was fabulous. I did no work, no cleaning, no cooking. We just played and napped and went to church and hung out. Then last night my dad came over to babysit so DH and I could get a little xmas shopping done and go out to dinner. I really hope babybelle isn't getting sick though. He went to bed at 6:30 last night and we had to wake him up at 7:00 today. :#

@mrsconn23, sorry your weekend sucks. Hope the pain subsides very soon.
@charlotte989875, yay for the offer.  This is why I think everything happens for a reason! Good luck with it all, my fingers are crossed for you.
@6fsn, awww but i bet the hug was worth it? :)
@misskittydanger, peach Bellini sounds amazing.  You know who has great peach bellini's? Moxies. Do you have one there?
@oliveoilsmom, that onsie sounds freaking cute! Love it.  Also, it's my dream to own a kitchenaid mixer.  After my vitamix, of course

Weekend was as low key as I expected.  Went to ihop for pancakes since it was on my mind since Friday. Got there and I couldn't just order pancakes, needed a protein too so I got "chicken and waffle".  It was "Ok" and not worth the 1,100 calories I found out it was AFTER ordering.  I made some on Sunday which were, as you guessed, not as good as from a restaurant.

Saturday we finished painting the bathroom (actually finished touch ups at 10:00 Sunday night) and went and saw "The man who invented Christmas" which was EXCELLENT and highly recommended.  H and I also started The Tudors since he's never seen it before.

Sunday I finished all my Christmas shopping and my nephews 1st year birthday present.  My brother has a beard.  I bought my nephew the winter hat with the detachable crocheted beard on it and it's freaking adorable and I better be original on that thing!

I also picked up two of those "scratch where you've been" maps. One for H and one for me since we have done a fair amount of traveling before we met and surely after.  However, I was thinking of maybe just using one for a "places we traveled together' map instead of separate ones?  I can give the other one to my parents, as they have a few to scratch off themselves.  What do you think? Separate or together?

@CharmedPam They are actually where I started loving them lol! I stopped going to Moxie's because they took the salad I loved off the menu. I'm a creature of habit, so I was pissed :')

@mrsconn23 how long have you been on the antibiotics? Have you noticed a decrease in pain/redness since you started them?

Work today. I have finals this week that I still need to study for. I had a dream last night that I had an AP US History final I hadn’t studied for, but that’s about two decades too late.

Friday was a veg day because I worked from 7 am to 1:30 am on Thursday. Saturday we went out with some friends and attended SO’s alumni high school Elizabethan dinner. It was okay. Kind of long. At the end the “Queen,” one of the guys, and another girl were crying (I think some drama happened during their intermission), and then the Queen was crying too hard for them to finish, so instead they kept singing Silent Night over and over. Literally for half an hour no one in the choir knew what to do. It was kind of funny. One of the guys kept trying to blow out his candle to end it but the rest of the choir kept on singing. Meanwhile the Queen was in the front row crying audibly. I do feel bad for her though. That’s super embarrassing.

Sunday I went to the gym and the mall. No more. I can’t take that many people. Online shopping only for me now.

@charmedpam-the hug was not worth it in the moment:)  I LOVE those scratch off maps.  If I had my brother in our name draw I'd be getting him one.  I don't remember how big they are, but is there a way to do a grouping of three?  His, Hers, Ours?

Weekend went by in a flash!

Saturday my aunt and uncle came over.   DH and I drove in the snow to the Christmas party at our friend's brewery.   Their food trucks cancelled but we had pizza delivered, drank some great high ABV beers and came home to kiddos who were happy.

That night we chilled out and started to watch Holiday Inn.   I started to fall asleep after the creepy racist part.

Sunday we went to church and then prepared for Chiquita's friend birthday party.   We had 3 friends over plus our two and they played, decorated Christmas cookies and had pizza and cupcakes.   Chiquita's mood was either at a 10 or a 2 but in all it was a great time and it was nice to hang out with the parents who enjoyed some beer and wine while we parented.

Chiquito has a nasty cough and I just hope that it gets better and doesn't start to have a fever.  We have tickets to go on the North Pole Express this week and Chiquita and I have Radio City plans on Sunday!

Yes, but it's under my skin and in an area covered by clothing...so I just need to keep my hands clean and not touch it.  I was hoping they'd lance the area, but I guess that is actually a last-ditch kind of thing.

I took 2 rounds last night and one this morning.  I'm taking the antibiotic 3x/day for 10 days.  I slept better last night than I did Saturday night, but I had the pain meds.  I can't tell if it's better or not because I'm still feeling a lot of pain/irritation.  The only time I feel significant relief is in the shower and I can just let the hot water beat on the area.

@mrsconn23 Are you allowed heat on your pain? Heating pad {or hot water bottle, which ever} was amazing when I had stomach issues last January. It helped relax the muscles around it, so it felt better.

@OliveOilsMom I love ironic shirts on kids :')
Since I had a rough first trimester, I told M we should get a shirt for me "you're killin' me smalls!" and onsie that has "smalls" on it lmao

Not much here. My parents babysat Fri night and we had a date night instead of going to my company Christmas party. Then we all went to a breakfast with Santa event. B did really well with Santa and even let me step away for a pic without him crying.  And then he got home and had a giant blowout and fought a stomach bug the rest of the day. Thank goodness it didn't happen on Santa's lap or in the car

What a cute little man!!! Great picture!

@6fsn, the maps I bought are pretty big! 24 X 16!  But I have an 8 x 10 I bought a few months ago, they just dont have the provinces or states zoned out, and I wanted to document the states I've been to as well!

@kvruns - That outfit and those pics are so cute!  I love them!

We usually use Vistaprint, but with the groupon and the quick turnaround - I couldn't pass it up!

Hi @thefanciestbeckler!  We miss your face around this place.

@mrsconn23 I'm sorry, that sounds miserable.  And what awful timing too....sending you all the healing vibes

@charlotte989875 e'ery damn thing crossed for this one!

@kvruns shut up!  I love your baby....and his suspenders!

    @lyndausvi that is awesome!  Congrats!

@levioosa whenever I begrudge my work schedule, I need to remember yours.  I don't know how you do it!

Weekend was good.  Can't remember Friday at all.  Like seriously, did we do anything?  Worked an event Saturday, got home late.  I was excited to sleep in, but the pup whined for 30 minutes and kept me up.  I got up, assuming H was running.  Nope, he was playing video games in the basement while the dog woke me up.  I was pissed.  After that we were lazy all day.  Like neither of us changed out of our pajamas all day lazy.  It was great.

Today I'm WFH then going with him to an event.  It's a showing of the film "Backpack full of cash," which focuses on how privatizing education is creating a new for-profit industry at the risk of results.  He donated money when they were crowdfunding the film and really wants to go.  Now that he's an unannounced but running candidate, he can kill two birds with one stone.

It's been snowing outside all morning, the pretty kind of snow where it falls slowly and covers everything.  Rosie is sitting on the ottoman, watching out the window and whining that she's inside.  Man, I knew her story from the first year of her life because she is obsessed with snow!

@missJeanLouise good luck with the move! Forgive me as I am sure you mentioned this before, but where are you moving?

@mrsconn23, oh no!  That staph infection sounds horrible, I hope it clears up and you have more comfort soon.

@charlotte989875, that's great news!!!  I hope everything goes smoothly to closing and you all end up better off than you would have been with the previous seller.  Do you have a copy of the previous inspection report?  If so, I'd have your agent forward that to the new buyers.  I'd consider that a gift, if I was a buyer.  Other than checking out to make sure the inspector was legit, I wouldn't even bother paying money to do my own.  Which would be one less thing you all would have to worry about also.

@CharmedPam, I like the idea of one map.  But still a map where each person and "together" could be marked off.  Is it possible to "color" or put a colored sticker dot on the map?  The two of you would each have a color and then a third color for "together".

@lyndausvi, congrats on your race!  That is a huge improvement over last year.  Yikes, I hope you all get snow soon.  I'm sure it's been a big drop in everyone's bottom line, both people and businesses.

@sparklepants41, yay Babypants!!!  I was cracking up at the thought of her staring at your pizza and chewing at the air.  I'll assume that is a baby move that means, "Hey!  Put some of that in my mouth."

It was a pretty mellow weekend, as expected.  Friday and Saturday were too cold (at least for us) to do anything but hunker down at home.  There was even ice sitting on top of my windshield wipers when I left work on Friday.  Though we did have to run out briefly on Saturday for our p/t hotel pic job. Sunday was watching football and movies.

With the exception of a couple days, we're back into highs in the 60's this week.  Much more comfortable.

Yeah, we lucked out on parking and found a spot very close to the door to the elevators so that was great.  H is the best and helped her around the casino and she didn't walk into anything!  She has a great sense of humor about losing her vision and that walking into objects is inevitable, but it's always better when she doesn't.
