Father's attire?

My groom and groomsmen are all wearing charcoal gray suits. My dad already has a black suit. Will it look off in photos or at the ceremony, or won't it matter? I personally don't care, but everyone keeps telling me it will look off!!

Nope doesn't matter at all! My brother just got married and he and his GM wore chocolate brown suits and my father wore a grey suit. It was fine, no one cared or thought anything of it.

Parents and other guests who are not in the wedding party are free to wear whatever they choose to the wedding.  The bride and groom really shouldn't be giving them any input or making any requests.  The exception would be if the guest kept asking what to wear, then one could say "Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.  But for reference, I will be in a ballgown, the groom and groomsmen will be in grey suits, and the bridesmaids in cocktail dresses." or something like that.
Also, parents and the wedding party won't be in that many pictures together, anyways.

It will look nice because he will still compliment the color of the groom.

It should look fine. 

We also told my dad to wear whatever he wanted, but he is insisting on wearing same as groomsmen, which is fine... whatever.

It will look totally fine.  One of my brothers was not in the wedding party.  My dad wanted to wear the same as the groomsman, so our family pic had me with my dad and one brother (groomsman) in grey, and my other brother in a black suit.  Everyone looked fabulous.
