Why isn't there a Monday post?

Well, now there is.

I have a nasty, nasty cold.  Dragged myself into work, and here I am.

ETA, because I realize now that isn't much of a post:

1.  DS was cranky and miserable Friday, and I was coming down with this cold, so I stayed home with him.  At one point, he fell asleep on my chest, the cat was sleeping on my feet, and I fell asleep on the sofa.  It was heavenly.  I felt like crap for most of Friday, a good chunk of Saturday, less so yesterday, and today I'm alive enough to sit at my desk.  But barely.

2.  DH pretty much ran the house all weekend, and I was so sick I didn't even get to enjoy it.  But it was nice to just sleep.  So very nice.  People at work don't let me sleep, they want me to do stuff.  Bah.

3.  When I was feeling a little better yesterday, DH put up our new ceiling fan in our bedroom, and I have serious buyer's remorse.  And I feel awful about it, because he spent the time to put it up, and the builder apparently left the bare minimum length of wiring to connect it so he was struggling with that--it wasn't a piece of cake install.  But I look at it, and I'm all

I'm giving it a week to see if I change my mind.  Here's hoping.

4.  DD's first soccer practice is tonight.  I can't believe it's soccer time again already.

Re: Why isn't there a Monday post?

  • I've been here, but working.  And I threw together chili for tonight's dinner and cleaned my kitchen.

Friday, we took DefConn to his old sitter's for a parent's night out.  He was kind of funny.  He went in and was cool for about 5 min and then he came out of her playroom and was teary eyed.  It was the first time he had been there since we moved.  It was sweet.  We took the kiddo shopping and then to his friend's house to spend the night.  We went back and got DefConn and he was happy and had a great time with his old friends.  We spent some time catching up with our sitter.  It was nice.  We miss her so much.

Saturday, I worked, picked up the kiddo, and went to the store.  After dinner SIL came/BFF came over to hang out.  We hung out and chatted until after 11.

Sunday, I worked 2 hours, went shopping, and then came home and just hung out.  DefConn and I ended up napping at 4:30 or so.  He did go to bed on time, thankfully.  DH and kids were outside playing a good part of the day.

    I've been busy this morning.

Weekend seemed to last FOREVER.  We needed to run to Lowe's Saturday morning for a paint sample and Meijer for maybe 15 things.  3 hours later we made it home. Mainly we played and got stuff together for M2's party and made her decorations.  I also sealed our countertops.  We have a lot of countertops.

My boss went crazy emailing yesterday and I ended up doing 2 hrs work.  I'm not complaining.

This morning I've been cleaning with the kids.  1.5 hours  and 3400 steps to clean upstairs.  That doesn't even count the 2 bathrooms.  Darn kids (and husband).  I did purge 2 trash bags of trash, 1 bag of clothes for donation, and sold 4 things as we were going.  Now we take a break before tackling the basement.

  • Whatever virus is going through my family right now is the worst.  DH is working from home today because he was starting to feel under the weather, and I just got a call from DD's school--she's in the nurse's office with a fever of 102.9.  Ugh, poor kid was crying and saying her eyes felt hot.  :(  So DH is on his way to get her now.  No soccer for us tonight after all.
  • Oh no Heffa!  :(  And poor DD and her hot eyes.

I feel under the weather but am trying to work and telling myself I feel fine.

My ear hurts, and my head feels like it weighs alot-a lot.  And I have actually completed a few things, with a few more things to go.  I just don't want to miss out on $$ but there will be a point this afternoon where I'm kind of useless.

Weekend was okay, SIL's 18 bday party was a success.  I think everyone had fun, 8 kids in the house, lots of screaming, lots of laughing, many funs had.  Then I crashed after everyone left and then I flopped in bed for 2 hours.  Unresolved anger is bad, yo.

    I need a punching bag.

I sure haven't, hmo.  Too sick.  Hopefully sometime this week.  Are you angling for a chicken bake review or something?
  • Friday - had day off, went shoe shopping, got a new pair of pants and a shirt, met DK for tile shopping for our pool remodel, had a date night and saw american sniper. the movie was really well done.
Saturday was a bit of a waste. I'm still feeling under the weather with my cold from hell (it's getting better). We basically hung out at home, watched TV and did chores.
Sunday we were supposed to go to our first Houston rodeo. With parking limitations near the grounds, we decided to park near the museums and take the metro in. While walking to the metro, I fell and broke my ankle. Luckily we were very close to the hospital. After 4 hours in the ER, we managed to get to the rodeo, see part of the events and the Fall Out Boy show (which was great).
I'm working from home for now until I get off the heavy duty painkillers, and can get around a little better. Luckily since it was just a small chip that broke, I shouldn't need surgery, and the treatment is going to be similar  to a bad sprain - ice, heat, and stay off it.
  • I had my first Chicken Bake this weekend.  It was meh.  I should have ordered the hot dog.

Good to know.  That means I make DH order the chicken bake and I order pizza and try the chicken bake and regret none of my choices.
