FLORIST & LINENS

Hey knotties!! So I have now moved on to my next phase of planning...the florist and linens?? I am so lost I dont know where to start?? Any recommendations? I dont really have a budget BUT I am also trying to be reasonable about this. Basically I am looking for the best bang for my buck. I have heard alot of good things about Golden Gate, Flowers by Semia, and Twigs. I also heard that Felicias Perfect Setting does a nice job as far as linens go. I am getting married at the Crowne where linens are provided ..I am still uncertain if I will use them. I found some awesome website where I can buy the linens myself and Crowne said they would set them up for me. Has anyone gone this route? Sorry lots of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ladies!

Blooming Blossoms in Providence was the most reasonable quote I got.

^ I love Pam, she is my local florist. I waited too long to book her and she got booked on my date (which was popular). I highly recommend her work.

Florals by Alisa is also very popular on this board and very budget friendly. As for Semia, love her work but she is on the high end of the spectrum. Toni Chandler is too but she tends to be more budget friendly and her attention to detail is impressive. Studio 539 is also a popular choice. Bobby from Twigs and Jay from Golden Gate Florists are solid florists so it really depends on your taste and how well you click with your vendor. Jay loves color! I used Whole Foods University in Providence for my wedding and they did a stellar job on a very small budget.

Some pics of their work below.

As for linens, I bought my linens since they were less expensive than renting them but I did utilize Rentals Unlimited's virtual tablescape. This tool allows brides to design their table setting with linen, flatware, stemware, chairs ect. They have a large selection of linens too. Definitely play around with different combination to get ideas. We rented our china, flatware and ect from Rentals Unlimited. They are a bit pricey although not by much compared to their competitors. Their product selection is huge and customer service was great. I must have called and visited the showroom a few times before making up my mind.

I used Frey Florist in Providence and they were great to work with and very reasonably priced.

Golden Gate is pretty good. We were going to go with them in the beginning, but we ended up going with a family friend who gave us a better quote. Goodluck!

I don't have anything regarding flowers but I've been to both Felicia's and Rentals Unlimited.  We will most likely use RU only because they have a much larger linen selection.  Felicia's is good too though and prices are reasonable.

<div>I purchased my linens from CV Linens and Smarty Had a Party. Smarty had a Party gave me a small discount after I liked them on FB. Their customer service was also excellent. CV Linens has a larger selection including more pintuck and tafetta selection. I ordered 90" and 120" round satin linens and 90" X 132" satin tablecloth in teal and fuchsia. I also ordered disposable prefolded star napkins which was perfect for our beach wedding. They also sell linen napkins too. </div><div>

</div><div>I was able to sell some of my linens and reuse the rest for special events so overall it wasn't a bad investment compared to renting especially at the rental rates companies charge per linen. </div><div>

I purchased linen from cvlinen as well as from weddinglinensdirect. Both sites had a great selection and the orders came in fast. Since my receptions is small it made more sense to buy them and try to resell them after. I had an appointment with rentals unlimited and since the minimum order had to be $500 I canceled it. Keep in mind though that when you order different sizes the colors might be slighly off since they are probably from different dye lots. I don't know what colors your doing but if your interested in navy satin and navy organza overlay mine will be for sale in June. As far as florists, we are going with Golden Gate. Jay is super nice and calm. Very receptive to what we are looking for. They also do uplighting. We got a great package ( at least I think so haha).

I met with Blooming Blossoms and really liked Pam, but she ended up being my second choice.  We actually went with Broadway Florists in Newport.  He stuck to my small budget ($1,500) and everyone raved about the centerpieces and bouquets.  I'd recommend him.
