Bed Bath and beyond GC's+return policy

Does anyone know if this is true?  I heard that you can return Gift Cards to bed bath and beyond from your bridal registry.THe reason I ask is b/c we only have our registry there and we have a decent amoun of stuff but really don't need a ton....My Fi's mom has a lot of family that live an hour away who most likely won't make the drive for my shower and she said would most likely end up sending a gift card or something.  The thing is I don't want $400 worth of gift cards from bed bath and beyond....I know a few family members are going in on our big items so there wouldn't be much I could use them for and we would so much rather have the cash to use at Lowe's do redo our kitchen. So do they really do that?  We figured if not we could return our big ticket items and get the cash for them and then repurchase them with our gift cards but that would be a painJust wonderingTIA

I know they have an awesome return policy but I haven't heard anything about returning gift cards.Seriously though-read what you wrote-"The thing is I don't want $400 worth of gift cards from bed bath and beyond" You should be happy these people are giving you anything. I think there are more important things to worry about than having an influx of gift cards.

I dunno. But why don't you register at Lowe's for a few things and put gift cards on there as well?

We registered at Home Depot and got alot plus $300 in gift cards from there. Don't be afraid to register at a home improvement store. People loved it.

I was told that Lowe's and Home Depot don't allow you to register anymore...if they do I'll be there tomorrow!!!and I didn't want that to sound ungreatful but I posted before how my mom and MIL had to invite EVERYONE to my shower even thought I was against it and with 85 women invited and 30 being from OOT my FMIL told me to expect that and I really have no clue what I would buy.  We only registered there b/c they had most of the things we needed other then Loew's and Home Depot but I didn't think you could register there anymore.  If I can then atleast there would be more options of places to get gift cards.  It would just be weird having that many gift cards from the same place

Bunchy: I didn't mean for the question to sound unappreciative....it was just after my FMIL said that I was thinking I should of registered at other places.  It was just a random popped in my head question that I figured I'd ask on here...Believe me I know there are more important things but hey their are more important thing then planning a wedding in general :) So everything we ask on this board is pretty unimportant in day to day life that's why we ask it here :)Sorry for the weird question

You don't have to use gift cards right away.  You'll find there is stuff you want/need a year or two later!Even if you can't do a registry at Home Depot or Lowes, you could always have people spread that by word of mouth: "you know, they're thinking about redoing their kitchen and really like Lowes."   (We wanted to register at IKEA but couldn't and just had bridal party spread the word)

I'll have to let my FMIL and my bridesmaids know to do that

We did register st Home Depot. They are no so swift and don't do it often but you definatley can. We went to the one in Deptford they were the most helpful and FI family in Langhorne PA were able to get it pulled up there. The registry is nothing fancy and old fashioned no guns to scan with it was hand written by us and they manually put everything in. I would certainly do it we got so much from there including our grill and lawn mower! If they don't want to get big ticket they can get GC. Email me if you have questions d.j.1202@hotmail.com just page me to let me know there is an email. GL
