Brigalia's

Hello! I am recently engaged, and we are just starting to look at reception places. It's pretty overwhelming! Friends of ours went to a wedding at Brigalia's and said it was nice there. Anyone had experience with them or know any price ranges??Also, if anyone could help me out with places, i'd appreciate it. We are looking for about 150 people in Feb 2011, and nothing too expensive (which is almost impossible). THANK YOU!! :)-jess

I went and looked at Brigalia's it was nice and price was reasonable. I think it was around $90 per person with a lot included. It is kind of out in the middle of nowhere and just didn’t have what we were looking for. As pp said it depends on what you think too expensive is. There are a lot of reasonable places compared to what some charge.

Don't really know much about Brigalia's aside from what's been said by pps.Vanity Fare in Lakewood. Not sure if this is going to be a permanent deal or not, but they recently started running a special where for $100 a head you get the following:5 hour open bar reception (Includes cocktail hour)center pieceschair covers and table linenscustom wedding cakea night in their bridal suiteyour dj AND photographer (They are pre-determined vendors, but they are both pretty reputable companies)Also, if you wanted to pick your own dj & photographer, they offer like an $80 per guest package where you get everything else listed above and an ice sculpture.

Also, while I agree that everybody has a different idea of "expensive", I'm pretty sure suggesting you avoid any of the LBI area venues is a safe bet. I checked them all out in over the past couple of years, so some of this may have changed, but at the time the security deposit alone for Bonnet Island Estates cost almost as much as my entire wedding budget. Mallard Island Yacht Club isn't much better in that department. The State Room is well over $100 a person, that pretty much gives you the room and your food. And Spray Beach Yacht Club, I believe was more reasonable per head ... but when I went there if you used the catering service at the venue, after your base price they charge you rental fees for chairs and silverware amongst other things. $2 a person for the silverware doesn't seem too bad until you add it up and realize that's an extra $300 before you get to the chairs.

I'm using Brigalia's for my wedding in July, and the place is AMAZING!!! The decor rivals that of Lucien's Manor, and the price is BEYOND reasonable at $69.95 a person on a SATURDAY! They give you an incredible amount of food, including a outside baker to work with you on your wedding cake as well as a dessert table. The landscaping and hardscaping is out of this world. Brigalia's is most certainly the hidden gem of south Jersey.
