I'm Excited!

Sooo, this morning I registered for my classes for next semester!  I'm SO excited to finally take classes that I get to choose!

I'm taking:
-Family Law
-Child Custody & Visitation
-Evidence
-Professional Responsibility
-Commercial Law Sales

I'm SOOOO excited, particularly for Family Law & Child Custody!  And my schedule's pretty sweet.  I never start earlier than 10am.  I never end later than 7pm.  All of my classes are in blocks...and my weekend begins on Thursday at 2pm!

SWEET!

I'm excited for you!  Sounds like you have a fun semester coming up.

Which reminds me, I should probably submit my letter of intent so I can pick classes.  Sigh.

    ! Wonderful schedule!
I need to register in a little less than two weeks. I'm not looking forward to it. I hate all of the classes being full right when I try to register. Rrrr.

AWESOME schedule! A good schedule always excites me.

I'm only taking three classes next semester, but they are kind of heavy-duty: a whole semester dedicated to Tolstoy's War and Peace; intermediate fiction writing; and a senior seminar class devoted to writing a feature length screenplay by the end of the semester.

Glad you're excited for next semester! That sounds like an awesome schedule... I agree with you- family law and child custody do sound very interesting!

My classes for next semester which will be summer school Frown should be really interesting too. I get to take Crisis Counseling and Psychopharmacology and one other that I can't remember, so it must not be as exciting as these to!

I'm glad you're so excited! Should I take this to mean you've decided to stay in law school? Or just for now?

I've decided to give it another year.  This year I was taking all classes that were required and really have nothing to do with Juvenile Advocacy, which is what I ultimately want to practice.  So, if after taking relevant courses of my choosing, I still don't think it's for me, then I'll leave.  But I'm going to try to tough it out.

Also, a free JD never hurt anyone...

I think you'll see that 2L year is a lot easier and more fun.  And after you finish 2 years, I bet you'll finish just so you can have the degree even if you decide you don't want to practice as a lawyer.  There's tons of benefit from getting the degree, so you'll do just fine!!!

Now this reminds me that I have to figure out what I want to do next with my life... the job is going downhill, and even if I manage to stick it out for another 15 months until we get married and relocate, I'm going to need to do something after.  I was planning to go to business school, but I don't think I want to.  My guy has been pushing me to do something creative once we're married since I'll have the safety net of health insurance through the military and the security of his steady paycheck (which will be enough to cover our cost of living and a hefty savings) and just work part time for entertainment money (dinners out, mani/pedis, trips together, etc.).  So I think I might write a book!  As my guy pointed out, I could spend $60k (plus living expenses) on a degree I'm not sure that I want to use or just the living expenses and try my hand at writing a book.  I've always wanted to be an author, so let's see!

Good for you, Shoes! I think you're doing the smart thing by waiting until you've had classes in your area of interest before making a final decision. Good luck with your classes!

And Cate, I think it's awesome that you might write a book!
