AW: Today's the day! (Updated with F/U)

Today is FI's meeting with the architecture firm. Fingers crossed! Look at him looking all professional and stuff...

Side note: FI is a grown man and doesn't know how to tie his own tie. I always have to do it for him. Do your SOs know how to tie a tie or what?

So now I just have to hang out and wait for news. I have some school work to do today so that should help keep my mind occupied. I have to find full pecans in the shell for a project I'm working on, and it is super difficult. That should be a fun adventure running around town trying to find them!

  • Fingers crossed!!!

FI knows how to tie his tie, but FI's roommate doesn't. He makes me tie them for him. Especially bow ties which he wore a few times.

  • Fingers crossed!

No FI does not know how to tie his tie and neither do I! His dad was in the military so he ties them for him and when he takes it off half the time he leaves it tied for the next time. He also only wears them for weddings which until  this yr we didn't have many to go to.

  • BF knows how to tie his own tie luckily. because I have no clue! He has to wear them for work daily.

Sending good vibes to your FI!!
  • Fingers crossed!!!

FI is a spiffy dresser. I could fake a tie knot but luckily he doesn't need me to.

  • Um, I've taught how to tie a tie more than once in my life, and I still can't remember. Luckily FI can do it himself. He just needs a little help getting it to the right lenght.

  • I'll keep my fingers crossed too! Good luck!!

I have no idea how to tie a tie either. FI does though, so I'm good, lol. I'll have to have him teach me some time ... you know, in case I ever need to wear one ... or in case he for some reason can't some time, lol. I dunno.

  • Thanks for the thoughts!

He said that the meeting went really well. He really got along with everyone there and they seemed to really like him. They don't really know if they have anything available right now. They have 2 other offices in the Midwest (Indianapolis and Chicago in addition to Detroit) and the head of the Chicago office is supposedly coming up tomorrow, so they're going to talk to him and see if there's anything there. So nothing concrete, but it seems like it's a good start! They even offered to have him come in and do their training on a 3D modeling program that they use that he doesn't have a lot of experience in.

That's good that it went well and they liked him! Definitely a good start and if they like him enough after the 3D modeling training, maybe they'll make a position for him!!

  • Good luck to your FI!

Lol to the tie thing. FI didn't know how to either, so I had to youtube it and do it for him for his job interviews. He has to wear a suit to work everyday now so he's a pro..it was hilarious at first though!

  • I was too late for well-wishes but I'm glad to hear it went well! He does indeed look "rather dapper" (lol) so sending good vibes your way.

FI knows how to tie a tie. With his eyes closed. And driving. (Not that he would do those at the same time, but he could if he tried, I'm sure).

And might I say... he looks damn good in a suit, lol!
